Mankind has the technology to create lightbulbs that won't burn out, tires that will last longer. It is truly amazing what can be done, what can be created.

Unfortunately, most things are designed to break down / stop working after limited use, prompting repeat business, allowing the creators to make a ton of money; much more money than needed to maintain a simple, healthy life.

These people are getting rich while some people are dying because they cannot afford FOOD.

Will mankind stop trying to get 'rich' and start using the latest technology to produce the best of everything possible?

My husband and I are having a disagreement. He heard that you can be arrested for stealing someone's garbage if it is in the bag, in the can, but still on their property. I said you cannot be arrested for stealing, you can only be arrested for trespassing, and that once garbage is thrown away it is public property. Maybe someone can help us with this? We live in New Jersey, maybe our state has a different law.

Previously the court had denied an injunction to stop it, but hadn't ruled on the merits. Now it is official.

I think this is just common sense, that if federal law requires people to be citizens, states can require proof of that. However, it is a major case, all the same.

What do you think?

Please no answers like "Because he just is" or something like that. Didn't he graduate from Yale and Harvard Business School? And don't you like have to be smart to do that? I'm just wondering because everyone says that he is dumb, is it because he fumbles his speeches?

I lost my brakes while driving a tri-axle coal truck (brake fade, most likely). I was going down a hill that was not marked, had no idea the hill was coming, and at the bottom, on a left curve, I laid the truck down rather than rear-ending the coal truck in front of me. I was fined over $2000 for the overturned veh and going too fast for conditions. I need to prove that the hill should have been marked as a hill for trucks, and maybe even a sign should have been up for trucks to reduce gear. this is in rural western pensylvania. it was a one-mile hill, country road, curvy, with no indications that a 90 degree turn was at the bottom of the hill until you were almost on it, and already going down hill for about .8 mi. I lost one case, now must consider appeal. i was told i need to prove that the hill SHOULD have been signed. how can i prove it? how can i find out the grade of the hill?

alot of people on this site seem to think i have a problem with the soldiers in iraq because i said that rape and murder of innocent women and children are a daily occurence, i don't, this is a problem caused by certain individuals and i said it because nothing was being done about it at that time. my problem is with the american goverment and those who are too ignorent to judge information from a third party, or others who are merely triing to inform people of what they know. i do not have a problem with those who support the goverment even if they have taken the time judge this information, not just dismiss it for what ever reasons they may have. i do not believe that the war in iraq is legitimate in any way, however this does not reflect my opinion of the men and women fighting in iraq, they are sent there and execute orders, they have no choice at that point. most of these people are honorable, courageous individuals, whome i have alot of respect for

my questions are, why don't people take the time to read thru these documents are such evidence before coming to a conclusion? why do people dismiss this as liberal propaganda evry time? and finally why do people get upset when i ask these questions even in the most polite manner i possibly can, just because they know my opinion?

the most important thing is:

why don't these people actually try to explain why it is they support the war anyways?

why don't these people try to explain their political point of views instead of claiming that i am a lib., (i am not even an american citizen, i do not support kerry, or any other person in particular, i just have a problem with bush) ?

I feel this way because just about everyone in my high school didn't even show any way of acknowledging what happened five years ago. There was only a moment of silence. What does that mean? Does that many people don't feel they have the time to grieve? Are they hiding it? Denying it? Do we need another event like 9/11 to make us realize that people are DYING and thousands are suffering EVERY DAY because of something so many don't even want to grieve for ONE day?

I know cocaine makes you do strange things but our president is completely "off the charts" regarding reality, human rights and who to attack after 9-11.

Half the time, he doesn't even believe what he's saying.. watch how many times he says, "uh-uh" in any interview.
