First, take a look at how much oil we actually got from Iraq before, and how much we are getting after (during) the war. Then look next door to Iraq. Still think we're there for oil? The silly oil argument never has held water.

Please.... how much oil does the United States import from the middle east? How much from Iraq specifically?

Of the total amount of oil used in America, how much of our total consumption actually comes from the Middle East?

You don't know... do you.

When you have figured that out, after doing a little research and realizing how asinine you sound by asking this question, then you may ask another more informed one.

Until then, read a book.

I think we went to war in Iraq to end the 19 ignored resolutions from the UN.
The last time we should pay any real attention to the joke of the UN.

It may appear that from the media, but I dont think so. If we never went to war, we'd be paying 1.75 a gallon of gas not 3.50. We'll see in thwe future if we start reaping benefits from their oil, then it will be obvious. Now, we are the ones getting the shaft.

Since we didn't get oil... which we could have... I'd say it was to close the torture and rape rooms, kill terrorists (which there are and were in Iraq), and to have a presence in the middle east for the next mission. Dismantle the dictatorship of Iran.

Hooaahh.

I, for one.

Do you think we would have attacked either Afghanistan or Iraq if not for 9/11?

Of course not.

Not even the great orator Ronald Reagan could have pulled something like that off just for oil - let alone GW Bush !

We went to Iraq to prevent them from changing to the eurodollar for others to buy their oil.
