NOW THAT WOULD BE AN ENJOYABLE SPEECH.

I agree Bush's manner public speaking is one of the least fascicle I've ever heard. His halting manner of speaking & incomplete sentences are downright painful to listen to.

Then there are the mispronunciations, malapropisms, and gauche diplomatic blunders; it’s enough to make someone cringe. Like the time he described his early plans for the Middle East as a "crusade;” then that phrase is lifted and put on constant replay tape as a terrorist recruiting tool. How dumb can you get to use a word like "crusade." ?! You'd think part of the requirements for office is Diplomacy 101.

My all time favorite Bush blunder is when Bush was speaking pejoratively of the French (ever notice that the neo-cons forget that without the help from the French we would have lost the Revolutionary War AND quite possibly the outcome of Civil War would have been different?). So anyway, sorry to digress.

So Bush was running down the French for some business-related issue in the wake of what Bush & the neocons felt was the audacity of the French to not just rubber-stamp approve whatever Bush wanted to do in the Middle East. So Bush tried to punish them by saying snitty things, (to wit) "The French don't understand what entrepreneur means, they don't even have a word for it."

Apart from the idiocy of the statement that the French don’t have a word for their own word (duh), there is the whole playground bully thing—again, you’d think part of the requirements for office would be Diplomacy 101. Is he really that dumb, or is he speaking to some voter block base?

Oh, back to the question. Off teleprompter it would be more of the above types of things, a lot of bad jokes, and in short order he would expose his true beliefs and disordered thinking by blathering off point. The general public would finally see through the carefully crafted veneer that his handlers maintain--e.g. what other President has required the potential audience members for his speeches to sign "loyalty oaths”? That stinks of fascism, yet the neo-cons get apoplectic with rage when they hear the word applied to their guy. Maybe they need a fan club & not a President? You know, I think that’s what those “members only” speeches de facto are….

Oh, I digressed again.

It would be full of stamers, studdering, uncomfortable pauses, unintelligible sentences, partial sentences. Basically an incoherent speech.

I expect a president to be able to speak as well as any senior level professional in the country. Bush can't do that anymore--

But let's be honest-- all presidents use speech writers and teleprompters. But I'm sure Bubba Clinton, Bush 1, Reagan, Carter and several others could talk w/out the teleprompter.

It would be a lot better. Hello dont you watch the news. Whenever Bush doesnt know he's on tv and is just being himself he is an awesome speaker. He speaks his mind confidently and makes good points. Some people just arent good public speakers.
