alot of people on this site seem to think i have a problem with the soldiers in iraq because i said that rape and murder of innocent women and children are a daily occurence, i don't, this is a problem caused by certain individuals and i said it because nothing was being done about it at that time. my problem is with the american goverment and those who are too ignorent to judge information from a third party, or others who are merely triing to inform people of what they know. i do not have a problem with those who support the goverment even if they have taken the time judge this information, not just dismiss it for what ever reasons they may have. i do not believe that the war in iraq is legitimate in any way, however this does not reflect my opinion of the men and women fighting in iraq, they are sent there and execute orders, they have no choice at that point. most of these people are honorable, courageous individuals, whome i have alot of respect for

my questions are, why don't people take the time to read thru these documents are such evidence before coming to a conclusion? why do people dismiss this as liberal propaganda evry time? and finally why do people get upset when i ask these questions even in the most polite manner i possibly can, just because they know my opinion?

the most important thing is:
why don't these people actually try to explain why it is they support the war anyways?
why don't these people try to explain their political point of views instead of claiming that i am a lib., (i am not even an american citizen, i do not support kerry, or any other person in particular, i just have a problem with bush) ?

I'm American and have no problem with what you said, actually I agree with you in a lot of ways. I have a BIG problem with Bush & Co. myself...a lot of people do. Right now our country is highly divided on this subject, and I do agree that lot of people do believe what they are fed...and if you do question it, you are branded "unamerican"...it hearkens back to McCarthyism with people crying "communist" to those whom are different. I think a lot of people enjoy identifying with the Repub. party--they have "marketed" themselves as the rich, powerful, tough and God-fearing--people like to think of themselves like that, hence the "sheep". Liberals are portrayed as weak, tree-hugging, druggies and not "God-like" b/c of their support of the rights of women and homosexuals...well...that doesn't sound too appealing to all that many people.
You ask why people respond with such anger with your polite question, well, people "like that" don't like their beliefs challenged--especially by someone who makes some sense, consider it a compliment :o).
But--don't lose hope on all of us...there are some thoughtful people left in this country and we are trying like hell to get others to think as well....I just hope we won't be too late!

Our country has become so polarized that it is difficult for anyone to make a clear, reasoned argument to anyone else, and even if they do, most minds aren't going to be changed. I haven't read your other posts, so I can't speak to that, but my guess is that it may have something to do with your presentation, or it may be that you are a victim of the polarization in this country.
I do take issue with you saying that the rape of women and children goes on daily. That does not sound like support of the troops to me, and I don't know what your source is for that. While atrocities have occurred, a blanket statement like that unnecessarily destroys the credibility of our troops, and fuels the enemy's propaganda, which I don't think (from the posts I have read) is your intention.

No offence but the soldiers are in foreign land and many committing crimes against civillians. I personally think they should all have thier throats cut and sent back in empty oreo boxes to the usa (standard fed ex delivery) with burnt american flags. By the way that woman who was raped/tortured and murdered was actually a 14 year old girl...

Everyone has a right to his/her own option. Yes one should read the whole paragraph but it seems that some people just cut and paste so they just read a few sentences and make a quick conclusion to the question. I believe we as US citizens are sick and tired of this war and all the hatred!

I have a problem with these people also. They tell subtle lies and inflame the Bush haters..You, being a non-American, have no credibility with me concerning what you think about Bush or our military. When you infer that our military is murdering and raping in Iraq (as if it is our policy and ever day occurrence), you are lying. You are part of the problem.

there is a lot to answer... I think to sum up, the reality is.. you have people that read a great deal and have time on their hands doing a dance with Television consumed consumers who hate the notion of anyone actually having a real thought because it means they're foolish followers.. or "sheeple" if you will..
Read , Read, Read,, communicate intelligently ,, be democratic, practice your free speech... and stop calling everyone with a rational thought a Liberal Tinhat !!!!

Well Violence begets violence it's true and someone "Cough wonder who" proved it. How does killing people justify people killed. Will diplomacy ever actually be an option or does it need to be voted on!
