ALL Arabs are terrorists. If you are from PAKISTAN you are either a Terrorist or a Terrorist conspirator. Brown Skinned people are now subject to profiling for travel on Planes, Trains and Buses. In the meantime the real Terrorists get away with their evil work.

I have a felony on my record from 5 years ago that's not violent or drug-related. I'm good at office work so I applied to attorneys for office positions. I thought they may be more open-minded to giving someone a second chance and they deal with people in need of legal help and/or criminals all the time so they wouldn't look down at the person as much as someone else might. They're not law firms, just general practice attorneys. Does anyone know if lawyers/attorneys will hire someone with a felony record?

If someone came over here from Iraq, Iran or Afganstan illegal, the government would be on their trail within an hour of finding out. The FBI would personally transport them back home. Why are Mexicans so special?

Even though the Bush adminstration is attempting to 'look at' the issue, it is so obvious that the immigration problem with illegal mexicans is out of control. We are so concerned about terrorism, are we devoting all our time to this and not other sensitive issues?

Whats going on here, in your opinion?

If you read up about it, you'll find that most other countries base their immigration requirements on what is good for the host country, not what is good for the prospective immigrant .. they have points systems which spell out what qualities they are looking for, what jobs they can do, what they can contribute to the host society ... no other country I've ever heard of accepts immigrants on the basis that "they are poor and want a better life for themselves" ...

Why are we the only ones who are even contemplating giving amnesty to poorly educated law breakers who contribute zilch to our economy? Or who don't have any marketable skills?

And please don't give me the bullcrap about doing jobs Americans won't do, or the statue of Liberty again ... when they rephrase that poem to "give me your law breakers, thiefs, gangs, child molesters, etc." I might listen ...

Americans are known for their practical nature, their "can-do" spirit. If something doesn't work, we fix it, or toss it out. So why not just say that the idea seemed good at the time, but now it just hasn't worked out, and we had better leave. If we just explained this to the Arab world, they would understand, and they would actually agree with us. Democracy cannot be planted in Islamic soil.

This was one poster's response to another question.

I'd like someone to explain to me how it is that more than a small percentage of people aged 20-30 are able to see "the big picture".

My own experience tells me that their own lack of experience in life leaves them with an inability and, sometimes, an unwillingness to see the big picture. In addition, many people I meet in that age group are woefully uninformed, not to say without opinions! For the most part, substantive conversations about world events are simply not practical.

My experience tell me that the reason why people get more "conservative" as they age is that they've gained more exposure to the world AS IT REALLY IS - thereby enabling them to have a clearer idea of what constitues a practical solution to a particular problem. There are plenty of exceptions, of course, on both sides of the political spectrum.

I don't call that "conservative" - I call it practical, informed, common sensical, rational, etc.

What happens if an insect falls in a cup of coffee?
The British : will throw the cup into the street and leave the coffee shop for good.
The American : will get the insect out and drink the coffee.
The Chinese: will eat the insect and drink the coffee.
The Palestinian will :
(1) Break the coffee cup and complain that he has no coffee
(2) Cry on all media channels that he feels humiliated
(3) Accuse the Israelis of using chemical weapons.
(4) Claim he can't be anti-semitic because technically they are a Semite people
(5) Have their babies check the coffee to see if the bugs are out.
(6) Fire rockets out of any place Israel withdraws from.
(8) Ask the United States for urgent humanitarian support and a loan of one million dollars in order to buy a new cup of coffee....then spend the money on guns.
(9) Ask the United Nations to condemns coffee as racism

In fairness to Dixie Chicks, they based Bush, not America itself like little Johnny did.

But I just asked a question about Johhny "my kids wont be raised in America" Depp, and I got insane responses mentioning "Mcarthism" and free speech!!

Who doesnt get this....I am not advocating the arrest of Johnny "I hate American culture" Depp!!!! You idiots. I am asking why their arent more self-respecting Americans willing to exercise their own free speech rights as opposed to blindly patronizing little freak Johnny.

I believe every American has the right to bash politicians, but if an Actor, who has made millions off American adoration turns around and urinates in your face, not Bush's...YOURS...why do you not have enough self-respect to say "hey, enjoy your millions little Johnny...I hope you saved it well cause you wont get another dime from me!!"

Dialogue with Iran, Syria and N. Korea, Iraq turning into another Vietnam, Our Troops being let down by constant mistakes and bad descisions.

I could nearly become a Republican myself, if Hagel would succeed in getting rid of these NEOCONS in the White House.
