If someone came over here from Iraq, Iran or Afganstan illegal, the government would be on their trail within an hour of finding out. The FBI would personally transport them back home. Why are Mexicans so special?

Even though the Bush adminstration is attempting to 'look at' the issue, it is so obvious that the immigration problem with illegal mexicans is out of control. We are so concerned about terrorism, are we devoting all our time to this and not other sensitive issues?

Whats going on here, in your opinion?

Great Question: Just look at the case of those 11 Egyptians. How long was it before they all got rounded up? Now they picked up those 11 in a matter of days WHY? When we have Millions of Mexicans here JUST AS ILLEGAL as those 11 Egyptians.

The issues involving immigration as they treat Pakistanis (for example) and Mexicans are quite different. The political climate in Pakistan is hostile to the United States, very hostile. Elements of al Qaeda are known to be based in Pakistan. Thus immigration or tourism by Pakistanis rightly deserves special attention (and, though it is not PC, there is special attention given to people from certain parts of the world).
The issues involving illegal Mexican immigration are largely economic in nature: the immigrants are in desperate need of jobs; and the U.S. has an economy that has learned to look the other way, because cheap labor is allowing thousands of businesses to profit from exploiting the cheap labor of illegals. Now there are terrorist concerns, and this is feeding into the immigration debates. But the U.S. has "looked the other way" for decades; now there are maybe over 8 million illegals from Mexico alone in the United States. You can't possibly send them all back. 1) It would cost too much 2) it would hurt business interests 3) millions would still sneak into this country. So the question is, how to deal with the massive numbers already here. This is what Bush is attempting, but it is a divisive issue. He is already seen as an unpopular, divisive, and uncompassionate leader. He cannot easily then treat the issue.

The reason is this "Mexican just think they can do anything they want to be done. Well in my opinion the mean reason Mexicans are trialling over the US borders is because they are closer to the US and so they think they can used to their force to come to America, while if you're not a citizen or someone important in Mexico you cannot live there. My main point is that if other countries citizen can go through the immigration process why can't Mexicans do the same. They have economical problems, birth rate and many more, to cause they to leave their country. Others have but still tried to go through the immigration process safely.

I don't think it's just a problem with Mexican immigrants. Your right, the Bush administation is giving too much attention to the war overseas and isn't seeing the war going on here in America.

Well the problem with discovering and escorting all of the illegal immigrants is that its difficult to escort 11 million people of MANY other countries besides Mexico.

The Bush administration is too busy worrying about the oil in the middle east...oops sorry...terrorism. There are many other issues that we need to deal with. Like us dropping a few million dollars per bomb instead of giving it to schools like mine.

Last winter, they set the heat at 67 degrees and sent letters home telling us to wear sweaters because we couldn't afford the gas and electricity bill. I don't live in some ghetto place, I live in a regurlar town.

I blame it all on Bush!! He`s the one that wants to make them "legal." I say deport ALL of them!! Not just Mexicans, but, all who are here illegaly!!
It`s time for another President who can do their job by looking out for the American people first and then the other countries..

Were NOT ok with it. It is the big companys that are reaping the fruits of having low paying no tax workers that are keeping them here. The big companys love it so much that they wont let Bush or the republicans get rid of them.

I am certainly not okay with illegal immagrants of any kind. The mexican illegals are getting out of hand and our .....government...should put a stop to it quick, fast and in a hurry.

"WE" are not OK with it. it has to do with the fact that George bush doesn't want them here, so the liberals who are filled with so much hate for him immediately jump to the Mexican side, and the mainstream media (who jump at the chance to demonize bush at every turn) shows sympathy for these losers for ratings.

They take many of the jobs out in the fields many Americans don't want.

I would be more worried about someone trying to kill many people than if their in another country illegally.
