Granted this is a sad story and I do feel very bad for his loss. BUT he thought it was "imprudent" to move his mother when the city called a mandatory evacuation!!! He waited until his house was flooded and then proceeded to move his mother. I don't think anyone should be accountable for her death because first off, she was old. Secondly if he would have followed the mandatory evacuation she may still be alive.

Does anyone else agree or do you think he has a valid arugement? I am not trying to be coldhearted. I just feel this case is unjustified because of HIS lack of reaction and NOT the governments But I do believe that were a lot of lives lost due to slow reaction of the government during Katrina, but if you didn't take necessary precautions as warned how can you blame someone else for your mistake...

I think the drinking age should be lowered ((coming from someone who didn't TOUCH alcohol until I was 19, unfortunately that is saying a lot these days)) to eighteen years old, and here is my argument. The US government basically gives every eighteen year old the right to use their judgement in most situations. Of course tobacco has different consequences than the use of alcohol. But they will promote joining the army, which involves giving them the ability to legally kill people if necessary, and trust their judgement on something that huge, but not think they are responsible enough to handle alcohol? I just don't understand I guess...

Hey fellow Americans!

If you suspect that you have been the victim of an attack involving the use of WMD's, did you know that Fox has a "handbook" published to help you deal with the disaster?

Thought I would help the president and FNC make Americans feel a little safer, as we are not yet safe by any means.

Problem = Terrorism
Reaction = War
Solution = Giving up your Freedom

or

Problem = Bush
Reaction = Get rid of Bush
Solution = More Freedoms, Peace

Let us remind you folks:

N E W Y O R K, May 1, 2001 In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.

A few weeks ago I had a campfire and was certain I put it out. But guess it was smoldering underground and after I left, it started up again and became a major forest fire.
At first I was told I would receive a citation, then a few days later I was told I was being charged, with failure to put out a campfire.
I've been waiting for the court date, and had planned on pleading guilty and taking whatever consequences they saw fit. I had to repeat my story to many different people, and the investigators agree and have publicly stated they realize I took precautionary steps, and that it was an accident.
But two days ago an officer delivered my summons, it said they were charging me with 'reckless burning,' which carries a stiffer penalty and possible jail time.
I don't want the court stuff to drag on, do you know anything about pleading 'no contest?' How can I learn more?
I really want to represent myself rather than have a lawyer.
Thanks

India has the fastest growing economy in the world. It has one of the best doctors, engineers and chemists. They have their own weapons to defend their selves from enemies.
The country is changing with speed of light so why is it still considered 3rd world country.

look at this graph:
http://cityofsparks.us/business/econ_dev/city_profile/nationality_chart/images/race_graph.gif

in the graph above, it shows the different populations of races in america. it shows the white population to be just below 60,000.

now look at this one:
http://www.hispanicom.net/images/graph.png

this one shows the population income of hispanics over the years. it shows what we believe to be the population of hispanics in the future as well

as you can see in the second graph, the hispanic population will reach over 70,000 by the year 2020, officially making america's majority hispanics!

so according to these graphs, in about 14 years, hispanics will outnumber the white community.

how do you feel about this?

I use to think just like all you guys, get a job, stop sponging off of government money. Well I have paid taxes, my family has paid taxes, I paid off a thirty thousand dollar loan that the government made sure I paid! Yes, the loan was a school loan, I am not uneducated! Unfortunatley, as many others, tragic events took place in my life and all the knowledge, all the money in world couldn't help me. I have overcome something that has made me an even better and stronger person, I didn't lose my dignity, but I did lose one thing, thank God, my pride! I need some serious help , I do live in a country where the system, if used the right way, can help a person help themselves and then play it forward! I could turn to a live of crime and start to become sour, feeling that everyone owes me. I will take a little to build much more and be proud that I did it in a much more dignified way then many others do. God Bless you!!!!!

The world wide web was invented by a British man who finished its development in Switzerland. So why is it that America thinks it should be the one who can govern the internet? I'm aware that American's contribute a lot to the internet in many shapes and forms but do you think any one country should be in control of it, if yes why, and if no then how would you inforce laws related to the internet?
