I use to think just like all you guys, get a job, stop sponging off of government money. Well I have paid taxes, my family has paid taxes, I paid off a thirty thousand dollar loan that the government made sure I paid! Yes, the loan was a school loan, I am not uneducated! Unfortunatley, as many others, tragic events took place in my life and all the knowledge, all the money in world couldn't help me. I have overcome something that has made me an even better and stronger person, I didn't lose my dignity, but I did lose one thing, thank God, my pride! I need some serious help , I do live in a country where the system, if used the right way, can help a person help themselves and then play it forward! I could turn to a live of crime and start to become sour, feeling that everyone owes me. I will take a little to build much more and be proud that I did it in a much more dignified way then many others do. God Bless you!!!!!

Good for you man. Some people need the help and should be able to get it from their own gov't. One thing that kills me is the jerks who always use that "my tax dollars" ******** or "I'm paying for your so and so" crap.
Get the hell over it!
We live in a country that forces us to pay taxes, does it matter where it goes once it leaves your check? They would find somewhere to put it as long as they're getting from us.
You should feel happy that it goes to helping other less fortunate Americans because if you ever get in a situation of need, you'll be at the nearest SS office as well. There are those that abuse the system, but those that need shouldn't have to pay for that with insulting and degrading comments.
If the structure of this country was not set up to build the rich and break the poor, we wouldn't have people who felt the need to steal it. It's not about education either becuase the so called boomerang generation are those educated people who can't get a good paying job after going to college and wind up back home with a serious student loan to pay off and not able to afford insurance and housing. Let the Lord judge. That's for all yous out there who love passing judgement on others! Meanie heads!

I think if the system is used correctly then I have no problem with people using it. I do however have a problem like people in my family who don't want to get a job because of the "free money" they get every month. So hands down to you for using the system to get back on your feet. Bravo to you.

I am not sure how Section 8 works, so I asked one of my relatives and they told me that they will help out will your cost of liviing Rent but that is it. So exactly sure what else it does. Hope you get back on your feet, and there is no shame in asking for help as long as you do something to better yourself and your family.

"Pride" is a deadly villain that possess people to drown in bad times. There comes a time in every ones life when our pride gets in the way of good judgment. Not only do we suffer because we can't swallow a little of it and except help, but those attached to us, also suffer needlessly. I know couples that divorced and live the remainder of their life out lonely, because of their pride. I know families that are homeless and hungry, because of their pride. If everyone would look up the word pride in their dictionary, they would see that not all pride is good. "Pride" is the ruination of a proud and stubborn person, that refuses help, and generally never offers help to others, or has sympathy for others. Without ever surrendering to "pride," makes a person haughtiness, arrogance and has a unduly high opinion of oneself. If a person genuinely understood the true meaning of pride, they would have satisfaction in something done, and be a person in which pride could be taken, in ones self. Bravo to you for not letting this over rated word and its twisted meaning get in your way of excepting help when you needed it.

Good for you. Now I would assume with your education, you can find out about section 8 without the help of Yahoo answers. So get off it and start looking for some real answers.

If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.

Is this even a question?
The problem with welfare programs is the people who abuse them, I don't know what your situation is, but if you really need help, you should recieve help. Welfare systems work well if they are not overlwhelmed by freeloaders, which is definitely the case in the US. I hope you get the help you need.

Can I assume you're at the library?

I sure hope you don't own a computer, have an internet connection and have your hand in my pocket.
