My English teacher stated that George Washington was not the first president of our "country," he was the first president of the "United States of America?" I asked what he meant, but he told me to find it out for myself. What does my teacher mean, and who was the first president of our "country?"

First I mailed the letter back saying that I had to go to school, but my request was denied. But I will be traveling and studying out of the country in 4 weeks, which means that even if I show up for jury duty, I will not be abe to finish it before I leave. Then I called the office at the number provided, it was automatic and the only option I had was to postpone the date. The new date had to be 6 month or less (I will be abroad for a year). I realle dont know what to do. Should I write another letter to them to explain the situation (will they grant it) or should I set up a postponed date and see what happens next? Please help me!!!

Reputedly the British S.A.S. is the best in the world, every other army has modeled its special forces on them and comes to them for training. For me only the australian S.A.S. and the Gurkhas come close, what do you think and why?

Thanks alot New York Times; last week two sets of Muslims were caught with prepaid cell phones. One group had over 1000 and the other had about 300. These prepaid cellphones (i.e. Tracfone) are nearly impossible to track and you don't even need a name or address. My question is, do you all think this may be a direct result of the New York Times leaking news of government wiretaps? It appears that peoples lives are now in danger because some irresponsible newspaper wanted to get a front page scoop. Before the Times article was published, terrorists didn't think twice to call up their buddies and plot death and destruction because there was no need. Now that they know the government may be listening, they're resorting to sneakier methods -- like prepaid cell phones. If the president and other politicians can be slapped with a censure, why not the New York Times? I believe in freedom of the press and all, but what the Times did was almost unforgivable.

I mean honestly, talk about a bunch of headline chasing liberals. I personally wish that the ACLU would disappear because the only thing they cause is frustration and complications. They dont just support and strive to protect civil rights, they jump on anyone that proposes programs that protect our freedom. So you choose, which one would you rather have, freedom of speech or freedom itself. Our government does everything it can to protect the interests of its people, thus it is a government "for the people, by the people". It is not a corrupt agency that is looking to violate every natural human right that the ACLU seems to be claiming. What are your thoughts on the ACLU?

I mean what are you essentially saying? "Guilty", I can understand that. "Not Guilty" I get that too. But "No Contest"? As in "I don't stand a chance! You call this a trial?! I'm screwed before this even got off the ground! I want my mom!"?

First they came for the Muslims and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Muslim.
Then they came for the immigrants detaining them indefinitely solely upon the certification of the Attorney General and I didn't speak up because I wasn't an immigrant.
Then they came to eavesdrop on suspects consulting with their attorneys and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a suspect.
Then they came to prosecute non-citizens before secret military commissions, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a non-citizen.
Then they came to enter homes and offices for unannounced "sneak and peek" searches and I didn't speak up because I had nothing to hide.
Then they came to reinstate Cointelpro and resume the infiltration and surveillance of domestic religious and political groups and I didn't speak up because I no longer participated in any groups.
Then they came to arrest American citizens and hold them indefinitely without any charges and without access to lawyers, and I didn't speak up because I would never be arrested.

"Mr. Al-Zawahiri, please hold on the line. We are trying to get that search warrant so we can listen in. Please don't talk about the terrorist plots until then. Liberals want to make sure we let you know we are listening. Thanks."

Sure, of course. Islamofacists follow the rule of law, respect the Geneva convention, and are just PETRIFIED by our justice system and those tough judges. LOL
