I don't believe so. It seems there's a new party, the NEO-CONSERVATIVES who appear to be a force unto themselves, although they won't admit so openly. As far as I can tell, looking back at who voted for what, the Democrats are just as much to blame as the Republicans...both parties have been systematically selling us off, piece by piece, to the highest bidder. Remember, it was Clinton who passed NAFTA...and now with what Bush has done to our Constitution (thus our civil rights/liberties), who's to know what HELL we are on the verge of.
Our politicians long ago sold America on the fallacy that capitalism EQUALED democracy, and too many of us were dumb enough to be suckered in. Every year we become bigger wage-slaves, busting our butts so some CEO and major stock holders can get stinking rich off our sweat, and skirt paying taxes. We are heading, VERY QUICKLY, for corporate totalitarianism....and with the U.S. Patriot Act, we won't have much to (safely) say about it.
The Democrats can't make up their minds what they even stand for, and the Republicans have been severely tainted by the Neo-Conservative forces hiding (in plain sight) within them.
One thing for sure, though, is that the is NOTHING patriotic or American about breaking 26 laws, or changing the Constitution of the United States by seriously jeapardizing the civil rights/liberties of our citizens with the passing of the U.S. Patriot Act. The Constitution is THE defining document of our country and our rights as citizens, and Bush had SWORN to protect and uphold it, as every soldier does. Bush told us that terrorists threaten our civil rights and liberties, but it is BUSH that attacked them...and then lied our way into a war. There is NO claiming to be patriotic, and then defend his actions. The Constitution was written by experienced politicians seeking to protect us citizens from that sort of tyrrany, and showed us that it is our DUTY to question our government...not fear it.
All Clinton did was cheat on his wife.
Bush had us ALL bend over for him.

There's nothing wrong with capitalism if it's properly regulated.
The problem arises when the wealthiest capitalists buy the media and then get their favorite supporters placed in the highest positions of both US political parties.
And that also answers your question about the Dems. If you think they're the answer, you're getting duped just like the conservatives were duped by the liberal George Bush.

Should not even try...Besides no party follows true capitalism. Capitalism is good for everyone...but you can't snip pieces off it and say it is capitalism..like a corporation cannot move work away to cause job loss and say that is good since it hurts profit in long run.
Most business today are not even close to capitalist since instead of making money and re-investing to make MORE money to reinvest to make MORE money the CEO's suck all the money they can out of company and leave a withered husk which makes economy weaker

I wish. If the Democrats weren't so strongly capitalist, I would consider voting for them instead of voting for the Socialist Party.
