I would like to know what your requirements are for a president ie: his background, experience / history, and his views. Is there such a thing for each dominant political party? Some criteria exist for nominations? be required to meet our minimum requirements?

Many of us wonder if the people and groups who argue against various execution methods as "cruel and unusual" have anything constructive to contribute in getting to a method that is not cruel and unusual. Because the fact of the matter is that heinous criminals are going to continue to be put to death. So, rather than just voicing opinions that there is a problem with a method, those who criticize a method should also bring with them their opinion of the best alternative method. That is how those condemned to death would be better served.

on here call themselves americans, but hate the government? I dont get it, learn to support or at least respect the decisions that our elected officials make. Sure you may not have voted for them and may not like everything that they say or do, but why knock them or talk crap? Be happy that your an american and that you have all the freedoms that you do, many people have given their lives for it, past and present. I just heard that in Cuba they cant have sattelite TV......and that its a punnishable crime, would you rather live like that as a commies play thing or as a free person who can do something as simple as surf the net or watch whatever channel you want to? Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Then go thru a period of quarentine so as not to bring in any diseases to this country.
Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground.
They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times.
They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.
They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture.
Nothing was handed to them.

Me and my wife went to Lowes, and i bought a push mower. I put it in the trunk of the car and we drove off. The cops stopped me down the road for "suspicious driving", never heard of it. Asked to search my car and then they saw the lawnmower. They handcuffed me for "my safety as well as theirs" and sat me in the curb. 30 minutes later an ICE officer show up to "process" me, so now I'm confused of what's going on. After doing a through check they find that I am not only an American Citizen, but a Veteran too. They told me that I looked like an illegal and since I had a push mower in the car, that made the assumption more valid. They also thought I had kidnapped or at least lured my wife in the car figuring she's white. What is this country coming to?
