Me and my wife went to Lowes, and i bought a push mower. I put it in the trunk of the car and we drove off. The cops stopped me down the road for "suspicious driving", never heard of it. Asked to search my car and then they saw the lawnmower. They handcuffed me for "my safety as well as theirs" and sat me in the curb. 30 minutes later an ICE officer show up to "process" me, so now I'm confused of what's going on. After doing a through check they find that I am not only an American Citizen, but a Veteran too. They told me that I looked like an illegal and since I had a push mower in the car, that made the assumption more valid. They also thought I had kidnapped or at least lured my wife in the car figuring she's white. What is this country coming to?

I'm just trying to stir things up, but I doubt this has never happened to someone, I get weird looks from the police.

It all depends on which of the following two scenarios is most palatable to you:

A: An innocent man is detained for ten minutes (but then released without charge) because he fits a suspect's description & is walking down the street with a bloody axe in a neighbourhood where someone was just bludgeoned to death.

or

B: An axe-murderer goes free, but a man who looks just like him thankfully doesn't have his peaceful afternoon stroll home from his job at the chicken-slaughterhouse just because he looks a bit like some lunatic.

You cannot have complete liberty and complete security, the two are mutually exclusive. It's no different than a financial investment, you seem to be asking why you can't have a no-risk portfolio with 20% annual returns.

Think about your question!

(And if you've really never heard of "suspicious driving", you might need to read a paper or get out a little more!)

Best wishes, and thank-you for your service!

You can blame what happened to you on all the illegals in the country. If it weren't for them, you would not have been targeted. Get active in trying to change how well immigration laws are enforced. Once the illegal situation is under control this type of problem will cease to exist.

You don't really think anyone's going to believe this story do you? People like you are the ones who stir things up for everybody. Plain to see you're no genius, but you don't have to wave your stupidity like a flag.

I had a friend of mine detained at Hartsfield Jackson by homeland security for 7 hours. He was interrogated and asked what business he had going to Seattle that weekend.

Apparently there was a huge KKK rally in Seattle and he happened to share the name of a very violent proactive KKK extremist who has been on watchlists.

Except my friend is BLACK!!

What a crock of BULLSH*T. The cops would have asked for ID and a receipt. When you show them both, they'd let you go. Get a life and stop making up stories!!

In times like these things can get a little confusing for all of us.
I recently had to visit a gov . building , what a hassle , next they'll want to check my poop-chute .

But when you have nuts running lose with bombs , you need to be carefull .

I'm fairly sure you could find a lawyer to take this case, if indeed ts true. The fact that you are posting it here and not evidently seeking legal rememdy indicates that its probably a lie.

This is not a good forum to use to stir things up. There are real lives that will be impacted by whatever laws are passed. What we need is more levelheadedness, not less.

Sad if it happened, but what stopped your wife from speaking out.

Sounds like racial profiling. Perhaps they were seeking a person resembling you. Who knows.
