I don't think that it is cruel and unusual. I do, however, think the current process is overly expensive. Was a verdict for death has been passed, and all evidence has been disclosed, I say kill them as fast as possible. Why must a person sit on death row for so long? The cases involving a possible death sentence should be pushed along through the system. If the person is found guilty they should be taken behind the courthouse and shot in the back of the head. It is quick, painless, and best of all, cheap.

I think these people that call the death penalty cruel and unusual and fight for the rights of these murders, are just as sick and demented as the murders themselves. Take Richard Allen Davis, who admitted to the killing of 12 year old Polly Klass in California in 1993, he has never showed any remorse for his actions, and you still have these idiots fighting for this guys rights! Do people really think that lethal injection is more cruel then what that bastard did to that little girl? People should be more worried about the family members left behind from these murders, and less worried about the animals that committed them.
Any kind of death sentence these horrible creatures receive will still be too quick and easy! People say it's mean to keep death row inmates locked down for 23 hours a day.....Oh my gosh! Death Row isn't a party! Who cares if they are lock down that long? I think it was mean when Scott Peterson killed his pregnant wife and threw her body into the cold water! I think it's mean that Richard Allen Davis broke into to Polly Klass house in the middle of the night, took her from her safe, warm and loving environment, molested and murdered her. You want to talk about damage? Imagine being 12 years old and knowing you're going to die. Imagine being the parent of a murdered child.
Death row inmates are given appeals, they have the right to exhaust those, and if they're lucky enough, maybe they'll get their death sentenced reduced to life in prison. Oh, I know there will be some that will read this and say what about the ones on death row that did get off because they were finally able to prove their innocence...that's what appeals are for! and with DNA evidence, people should have no problem proving they aren't guilty of a crime!

well, i have to say that lethal injection is much more humane than, oh say, being STONED TO DEATH. which is what people used to do during biblical times, and still do today in third world countries.
i think with the death penalty it is supposed to *perhaps* make you not want to do horrible crimes--i mean, if you are murdering someone, then you should be aware that you could possibly die from what you have done. so why should someone complain about it? we warned them...they didn't listen...so they get punished.
a slap on the wrist will not stop someone from murder(etc.), but maybe the death penalty will--at least they can't be put on parole and be given the chance to kill again.

I honestly think that it's silly that when one is put to death, it is considered cruel if he or she has to suffer at all during the process. We are putting them to death because the justice system has proven that they have committed a heinous crime without remorse in most cases. For justice to be served, I think they should at least have to suffer as badly as their victim. I know we aren't going to get there, but this idea of making it as painless as possible for the murderer is just silly to me. It should be a case where we feel that whatever its like when they are put to death, its better than they deserve and is therefore humane enough.

They will not come up with better, because they do not agree with death sentence any ways. As far as I am concerned lethal injection is to nice. The criminal has took other peoples lives in very awful ways. Lethal injection is too good for them.

Well I agree with death penalty. If we want to do it I say we use the Kevorkian machine which is painless. I personally feel if some gets death sentence then it should be up to the guy doing the dying out of these choices: fire, bullet, chemical, suffocation/hanging, chainsaw, chuteless skydiving and bullfighting.

Many people think the death penalty is not a deterrent to crime. Putting that aside, what is a nice way to kill?
Blowing them up like the suicide bombers? Very fast, couldn't be painful!
The guillotine is quick, but I understand the eyes see the decapitation!
A shot to the head?
How about stoning?
What way would you want to be put to death. Personally I think I might choose heroin, go out on a buzz!
Maybe we should kill them like Cows, POW spike to the head!
Come to think about it, injection seems about as civilized as any other way to kill

I think lethal injection is the most humane method you can do. Personally, I think they should be executecd in the same fashion as they killed most of their victims. Or let some of the victims families go to town on them.

i really don't feel that it is cruel and definitely not unusual...but even if it was....how many of them killed their victims in a nice and humane way? i know that sounds cold, but i m so sick of turning on the news and hearing of another innocent child that some pervert has kidnapped, molested, tortured, and then finally killed. nothing could be too cruel or inhumane for them!!

Lethal injection of a life-long prison sentence. But if we HAD to have the death penalty, what ever happened to assassinations?
