Indiana is going to offer license plates with In God we trust on them. Some people saw that there is no separation of church and state and then go quote the first amendment when it says right there- no establishment of religion.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
And when the government says –put this tag on your car that says you believe in god, well its just gone and forced you to sign on to a religious belief you may not have.
As for the rights of believers- why don’t you get a bumper sticker? Or one of those little fish? Or a plastic Jesus? Nobody can stop you from displaying those. That’s where the free exercise clause comes in. I may not agree with you but I will defend to the death your right to have a tacky little plastic little statue of your god around.
Don’t you see the difference?

Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, could they have discovered a method for finding truth in any circumstances? Lets say two or more parties dissagree on a particular thing we can lable C. By using the bodies of truth of each party involved to build off of can one prove C is true because A and B are true? A and B must be known to be true, exsisting in the body of truth of all parties disagreeing on C, and what A and B are, must be structured in such a way that when one puts them together they get the truth or untruth of C. If it is structured correctly then should it be able to prove C true if it is true? then could it be added to the body of proven truth that A and B come from allowing that body of truth to be expanded for both or all parties involved slowly resolving disagreements in that body of truth? the body of truth i speak of is what the partys involved hold to be true. is this a way to resolve complex dissagreements one step at a time?

It never ceases to amaze me how we in America can be so put-upon by so many different and diverse cultures, and still function as a nation. We are the most generous and forgiving people on the face of the earth.
The most recent example is how we tolerate the Muslims in our midst. Think about how the faith of Islam calls for the utter destruction of any and all who do not follow the teachings of the Koran. And yet, because we as citizens in the United States have sworn an allegiance to And yet, because we as citizens in the United States have sworn an allegiance to a document derived from Judeo-Christian teachings, our Constitution, we accept them into our country and welcome their diverse beliefs. We even will fight and die for their right to worship in the manner they choose.I am amazed that our tolerance level has been nd bent so many times down through the years, yet it has never broken. It has become a bit threadbare at times, but the Constitution has “stayed the course” during those trying times. We can only hope that it will be able to weather this latest assault on religious freedoms and personal choice. The Republic must survive if the world is to have any chance of going forward.
In no other place in the world is there such freedom to choose to worship as there is in the United States. Think about that a minute: In many places in the world today, the government orders a person what church to attend (rather I should say mosque), and when to pray and to whom to pray. In this country, our Congress has appropriated funds so the US military could recruit and train religious persons to minister to those soldiers who follow the church of Satan (I don’t agree with what that church professes, but it is a protected religion under our Constitution).
And we as a nation allow the Muslims to peacefully worship as they please, even though their true religion calls for the overthrow of our form of government and what it stands for. We will amend local laws (a la the city in Michigan where local ordinances were amended to allow the mosque to broadcast the call to prayer at five in the morning over a loud-speaker system) to enable them to worship per their callings. Where in the world would this happen except here? In fact in one Muslim country, a Christian Missionary was recently sentenced to die for preaching the Christian Gospel.
I continue to believe in, and to repeat in articles, the known generosity of the people in this great land. And I also continue to warn others that this generosity and the patience that fuels it is not without end. Should these groups of converts and immigrants, illegal and otherwise, continue to taunt and tease the American people, there will be a reckoning. The will of the American people, the true Americans, is an awesome thing, and it shall come to the surface. It is good to be standing on the right side of that will when push comes to shove. If not, If not, you could find yourself shoved out into the cold

When will Tony Blair learn. The only reason Bush is so eager to stick his nose in other countries problems is that it actually pays him to go to war. Just think of all the money they make from raising the price of oil, petrol, gas etc and unfortunately Tony Blair decides that instead of sorting out problems in the counties he is supposed to be the prime minister of, he jumps on the bandwagon of Bush. What happens to the debt in the nhs, policing problems or the millions of other problems here in the UK.? Well, if you are Tony Blair, you can't see the problems for
all the shite in his face.

Any Americans settle an argument?
I'm from London, and have been having a debate regarding the above.
I say that during the Civil War, Lincoln wanted a place to bury the Northern dead and it was decided to use General Lee's old home, which is in fact Arlington. That it would be Ironic that "Yankees" were buried in a Confederate General's back yard.
How true is this?

It would save about 250 Billion. With said Billions one could easily fund medicare for the whole nation AND have enough left over to
a) start paying off the national debt
b) give aid to third world countries. Not in the form of direct money, but in the form of helping them to become self-sufficient.

The U.S. military still would be the mightiest on earth and perhaps would have less reason to flex its muscle constantly (if you spend 500 Billion on the military you better use it, otherwise how the hell do you justify it ?)

More than 200 lebanese children had die.

I asked this cuestion before and some people replay me with arguments like "Hizbolla were killing too" but i say:

Hizbolla is aguerrilla, but the murders in Lebanon are made by an army moved by a state, Israel's goverment.

So? Israel is acting like a terrorist group but with the power of a official state.

Eye by eye? If you think like this How many dead children you need to be satisfied?????

If you can read :

http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticleNew.asp?xfile=data/weekend/2006/July/weekend_July54.xml§ion=weekend&col=

So, please if you will answer with things like "How about the murders Hillzbolla did in Israel" You are saying that is OK killing lebanese children.... that makes you worst than Hizbolla.

In this shocking memoir, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, John Perkins tells of his own inner journey from willing servant of empire to impassioned advocate for the rights of oppressed people. Covertly recruited by the United States National Security Agency and on the payroll of an international consulting firm, he traveled the world—to Indonesia, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Iran and other strategically important countries. His job was to implement policies that promoted the interests of the U.S. corporatocracy (a coalition of government, banks, and corporations) while professing to alleviate poverty—policies that alienated many nations and ultimately led to September 11 and growing anti-Americanism.
