It never ceases to amaze me how we in America can be so put-upon by so many different and diverse cultures, and still function as a nation. We are the most generous and forgiving people on the face of the earth.
The most recent example is how we tolerate the Muslims in our midst. Think about how the faith of Islam calls for the utter destruction of any and all who do not follow the teachings of the Koran. And yet, because we as citizens in the United States have sworn an allegiance to And yet, because we as citizens in the United States have sworn an allegiance to a document derived from Judeo-Christian teachings, our Constitution, we accept them into our country and welcome their diverse beliefs. We even will fight and die for their right to worship in the manner they choose.I am amazed that our tolerance level has been nd bent so many times down through the years, yet it has never broken. It has become a bit threadbare at times, but the Constitution has “stayed the course” during those trying times. We can only hope that it will be able to weather this latest assault on religious freedoms and personal choice. The Republic must survive if the world is to have any chance of going forward.
In no other place in the world is there such freedom to choose to worship as there is in the United States. Think about that a minute: In many places in the world today, the government orders a person what church to attend (rather I should say mosque), and when to pray and to whom to pray. In this country, our Congress has appropriated funds so the US military could recruit and train religious persons to minister to those soldiers who follow the church of Satan (I don’t agree with what that church professes, but it is a protected religion under our Constitution).
And we as a nation allow the Muslims to peacefully worship as they please, even though their true religion calls for the overthrow of our form of government and what it stands for. We will amend local laws (a la the city in Michigan where local ordinances were amended to allow the mosque to broadcast the call to prayer at five in the morning over a loud-speaker system) to enable them to worship per their callings. Where in the world would this happen except here? In fact in one Muslim country, a Christian Missionary was recently sentenced to die for preaching the Christian Gospel.
I continue to believe in, and to repeat in articles, the known generosity of the people in this great land. And I also continue to warn others that this generosity and the patience that fuels it is not without end. Should these groups of converts and immigrants, illegal and otherwise, continue to taunt and tease the American people, there will be a reckoning. The will of the American people, the true Americans, is an awesome thing, and it shall come to the surface. It is good to be standing on the right side of that will when push comes to shove. If not, If not, you could find yourself shoved out into the cold

The spirit of Americas-it build and has kept this country. Bet it will still. Sooner or later we won't turn that other cheek to those who want to take advantage-we love all the people of America(no matter what race or religion or nation) and we will protect them from all forms of harm. The majority of Americans are shoving back now. The majority of Americans-are nice so far-won't last forever if people think they can push and not be shoved.
AND MY FAVORITE_THEY NEED US_WE DON"T DEPEND ON THEM.
I would think about that- to those who get a bit big headed and prideful.

Next time, get your facts right. Islam does not call "for the utter destruction of any and all who do not follow the teachings of the Koran."

Puh-lease. I'm a Muslim, I think I know what my religion says and what it doesn't.

I read that entire thing and all I can say is go read the quran and quit sterotyping muslims. Only the extremesists call for destruction. To label all of them that way is wrong. But the rest I agree with.

It is somewhat amazing. But it is sad that we have a Christian heratage, but we so easily dismiss it. I mean, we have outlawed prayer in school. We teach a theory (evolution) like it is true and proven--although it is clearly not scientific or possible. We have legalized the killings of innocent babies through abortion, instead of making a wman take responsibility for her actions. We have legalized gay marriages, although it will make our society a disfunctional place. Amazing?!

I no, in Saudi Arabia you can be arrested for having a Bible and put in prison. Islam is a very intolerant religion, but yet they are free to worship here.

did you bump your head????????? we are the biggest bunch of hipocrits around. we tell other nations what they can and can't do, but yet we do the same as them.

we tell iran they cant enrich their own uranium for fear they may make a bomb, yet we have the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons around.

we tell other nations to let their people live free, but yet the government tells us what we can watch, and how we should live we are the richest country around yet we have to pay for health care. we have more laws than any other nation that are suppose to protect us....ie seatbelt laws, yet 2 million children get on school buses twice a day and no seatbelts are required.

dont get me wrong i think we live in a great country, but to sit there and think we are a great people is absurd.
