Does anyone besides me find it kinda convenient that Halliburton is getting all these Iraq contracts now that Cheney is VP? Isn't this a conflict of interest?

The entire administration is a conflict of interest at least the interest of the American people. And yes Halliburton has been cheating the American public by over charging for the service they provide to the military. But the Bush supporters will claim different. When all is said and done I can only hope that Truth will prevail and all those guilty of crimes against the American people will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.Cheney and Halliburton are profiteering ,which is a crime and Bush is an accessory
and guilty of aiding and abetting ....Blind trust? yeah right

Yeah it is a conflict but Halliburton is a highly qualified company for that particular kind of work. Cheney maybe should have cut himself out of the picture at the point where contracts were signed, etc. so there would have been no ethical questions.

It is not. Cheney has at present no connection with Halliburton, financial or otherwise. Cheney's assets are in a blind trust, and nobody but the trustee has any idea whether a financial benefit to Halliburton would be a benefit to Cheney, or a detriment (if the trustee has sold Halliburton short).

Seems like this entire Bush administration is about business school networking and information sharing and profiteering: A political strategist named to head FEMA in order to create connections for building a lucrative lobbying career. Former energy CEO as VP consulting energy insiders to establish energy policy. Pharma corporations designing Medicare Drug benefit plans to benefit pharmaceutical industry; You don't suppose that Secretary of Defense had any inside information from Homeland Security and Health and Human Services that inspired him to be an early investor and to reap millions in the tamaflu vaccine? Just another amazing coincidence.

Eisenhower, a Republican, warned the country about the "Military Industrial Complex". The warning was not heeded. Now, the neo-Conservative branch of the Republican party is firmly controlled by the Military Industrial Complex. Cheney is not the VP, he is the puppet master.

Yeah... I have thought that was really "convenient"

I love how our gov't is making huge profits from this war... from our men and women dying... Nice isn't it?
