Typical liberal point of view - not creative or imaginative enough to think that anyone but government can achieve these types of things. One business that I know of canceled their involvement government worker training program because there was too much overhead, too much paperwork and too narrow of a focus. They instituted their own worker training program and had three times as many applicants, twice as many workers successfully complete the training, and could not be any happier with the results. I know the HR person involved with this company - any time the government gets involved, you can guarantee that wasteful inefficiency with no accountability will be the result...

Look at all of our increased border security - new government jobs - the Government Accounting Office reports that there are more than 6,000 types of ID that can be used to cross our borders, and border security officers are rarely checking on any of them... They just want to collect their government pay and make it look like border security is better. A private firm would not have that kind of luxury - but the liberals try to make everyone believe that government union employees are the only way to go, whether they are effetive or not is not important. Liberals can say that the job is being done, even when it is not...

Even if what you are saying is true and it most likely is not Let me remind you that we have a public school system run by liberals that is supposed to educate and prepare young people for life in the real world. The track record the public school school system bears over the last 45 years is an embarrassment and a total failure - and borders on criminal and treason. With that said I believe you spirochete parasites will find further excuses to go on in the same vein until conservatives raise up on their hind legs and forcibly remove you from the policy making of this country

Two things. One, to give a blanket generalization about all conservatives' feelings regarding programs due to one man's decision is just stupid. Two, exactly how informed are you regarding this issue? Did you sit in on the meetings from the various committees that undoubtedly met to discuss the success of these programs and the future need for them? Since when did the government become responsible for educating everyone? Oh wait, I forgot. America's education system is doing SOOO well.

This truly stress personal responsibility. Govt has no place in the private sector. Why should my taxes go to help out some lazy bast**d. Get your GED join the military. Problem solved. Quite whining about how nobody helps and help yourself. By the way FDR was a Socialist idiot and Clinton was just an idiot.

Personal responsibility also includes the responsibility to pay for your educational dreams. Many people think it is the feds job to take care of everything for them, that is shameful. I spent 20 years in the Army to pay for my Masters Degree, defending the rights of those who would rather have a handout than have to acheive something for themselves. Anyway how is the fed govt qualified to give any type of job training?

Well DUH cuts have to be made. Sorry if you cant get the big picture. Clinton cut things also that were imporntant. You just have to ballance what we will pay for. I am all for work programs but not if I have to make my family suffer to pay the cost. Instead of complaining about it come up with a program that we can afford and put it into effect.

Personal responsibility means getting your own work training, not having the government pay for it.

And government programs that teach you what you should learn on your own advance personal responsibility exactly how?

Better question: are you insane, or just stupid?
