I understand that a combination of the 2 is preferred BUT - I like to know the principles of the person I voted for. I do not like politicians who govern on a whim. Meaning - they go with whatever feels good to them on that day ( a la Bill Clinton).

Due to his war on the middle east and the fact that the man cant even talk right, how long before we can officially consider him a lame duck? He has not done one great thing since he has been in office besides starting a never ending war or "conflict" in the middle east.

I'm reasonably certain if I posed my strongly held anti Israeli views on the situation in Lebanon and Palestine, there are security measures in place that would place my name on a list which could in future reflect badly on me.How much sanctuary does Yahoo have in terms of protecting the confidentiality of its members who are only presenting their honest opinion on current events

I believe the US should stay out of the Mideast Conflict.
If Israel wants to fight the lebanese and they have the fire power to defeat them, why should we interfer?

What do you think?

When the U.S. goes to war, we always take it to them, you see on the news clips of bombs exploding, and mortars hitting in these foreign cities, but is it possible for a near-future enemy to take a war to our streets? I noticed it hasn't really happened yet in our modern times, so is there a way we prevent this, or does it simply not happen.

Countries and great civilizations throughout time have crumbled because of diversity. Diversity means we are a divided society - languages, values, and even being "Aftican" American is divisive. I am NOT a German or Irish American. I am proud to be AMERICAN.
Diversity by it's very name...divides...
This is a melting pot where we should all have some common beliefs and goals. If we drift further apart this great nation will fall and this IS a GREAT NATION. I feel very blessed to live here.

It seems that we are again supposed to believe this sleazzy government. Prescot has not had meetings then he has. It was a private trip paid by us. Is this man and this government for real. I do not believe a single thing they say anymore.

As far as I can see, the war declared by Israel is more legitimate in history than many Arab attacks. Israel first of all had given an official ultimatum and declaration of war. Lebanon did not fully comply with UN brokered peace agreements. Israel soldiers were captured and killed without an official declaration of war. Israel's military actions were supported by the official will of the Israel government with a legitimate democracy. In comparison, Lebanon or Hezabollah had made no official declarations of war to justify their attacks. Their rogue militias and attacks have no legality for they are illegal from previous UN orders or legitimacy from the legitimate democracy of the people of Lebanon.

Weren't you neodems (since you guys like to say neocons) crying about how much money Bush spends?

Didn't Clinton cut funding to these education programs to achieve his 'surplus'?

Isn't there STILL more funding to these programs under Bush than there was under Clinton?

Why are you neodems such hypocrites?

It irritates me that we are considered allies of the US because of that shameless lapdog Blair.

The reality that the PEOPLE here did not want to support the US (especially if we had been told the truth about WMDs)
