My new next-door-neighbor came to my door to tell me he was going to remove the wooden fence between our yards and build a block wall. I told him I wasn't financially able to pitch in, and he said that he wasn't going to ask for money....just permission.
I said that would be fine.
I went on vacation and when I returned the wall was completed.
I noticed they didn't 'dress' my side of the wall. All the cement between the blocks has dripped and it looks awful.
He also built a surrounding wall around our cable meter, which the electric company made him remove because it blocked their access.
I know I shouldn't really be complaining about the wall, but it looks so bad I don't think it will be a good 'selling point' when I put the house on the market.
Is there anything I can legally do to get them to fix my side of the wall?
They already think I 'told on them' about the wall around the cable meter....I did not.

Below is the link to the story, but during a time of crisis, it appears that a doctor and some nurses made some choices that they may have to pay for.....
I am a nurse and I am torn in my reaction. Part of me understands why they may have felt compelled to do this, but another part of me just feels it is wrong.
What are your thoughts? Comments?

The UN reports that 14,000 Iraqis have been killed since January. Under Saddam, there was less anarchy, but lots of state-killing. Is the current killing rate worse or better than the pre-invasion rate?

What would you do and/or say?
Would you just be dazzled by your brush with fame and shake his hand?
Or would you use the rare opportunity to try and speak up without being a threat?

My dad works in Beirut and I was going to go and visit for a few weeks, but he cancelled it because of whats going on. They're evacuating Americans, but he said a lot are staying, like most of the people from his work. The media makes it sound like this is a big deal, but I guess I don't really know. Will he and the other Americans over there who decide to stay be safe? I don't even really know whats going on.

Look in the mirror people and you might see the real problem. Immigrants work harder and longer than their lazy American counterparts that want to be given everything. I have never seen one valid reason in the press and especially on this site whywe should close the borders. This country is founded on the principles of equality and the dream of freedom and opportunity, yet all you Conservatives wants to deny yet another group these freedoms.
