No I would not give up my belief in the Lord Jesus. Anyone who truely believes in God cannot "give up their faith" - if you believe, you believe, I'm not suddenly going to turn my back on the truth that I believe and go for the codswallop that there isn't a God in a bid to achieve world peace. If everyone believed the truth instead of having divided opinions then (I think) the world would be at least a lot more peaceful. But if you are asking the whole world to give up all they believe in, all values they have, and take hold on a new universal faith religion and politics that some human has made up it is not only false, ridiculous etc but there would probably be wars as to what we should all believe in. We live in a sinful world, its on a downward spiral and I believe it is only going to get worse until the return of Jesus. Maybe you don't believe in Jesus right now, but one day there will be no doubt in your mind.

World peace isn't something that is easily achieved when it (the world) is full of 'independant' people, who have 'their rights' and expect to be allowed to excercise 'choice' they demand 'freedom' of speech and just about everything. For peace its got to all work together instead of pushing and pulling in all different ways but thats hard to achieve when we're talking about billions of people who all think they know best and are determined to have their own way and please themselves. Misson Impossible here we go...............

If everyone gave up religion and politics, world peace would be achieved already. These are surely the biggest cause of trouble throughout history.

Say i had a faith, religion, or whatever...and gave it up and world peace was achieved. It would only be a matter of time until someone finds something to get everyone all pissed off about and all hell breaks loose again...

Just wanted to complement you on your question. I am an atheist, and I believe that is a step forward into tolerance, since I do tolerate people's religion. I think everyone should sacrifce their faith to accomplish peace, but they won't, for some reason they believe that at some point their religion will reing the world and everyone will be happy... religion is a big scam trying to get you to do anything for their purpose.. and they have the bs-filled bulletproof vest called faith... I wonder those people who believe in all this craop really actually think about dinasour bones? Fossils? They aren't the bible, and I know they'll say that it is to test our faith... i wouldn't want to follow a god who instead of helping us in our desperate need, he goes around digging and implanting bones.. messing with our ******* heads.

Get real.
Human nature is such that, as one gives the other will take. The theory of the meek inheriting the Earth is self contradictory. More apt in this context would be that the meek will inherit the earth ( as in six feet under).
The logical aspect would be that this planet has a little time to exist, everyone for themselves, get what you can while you can.
Just look at our leaders, they are not bothered about you. What chance do you have in following their lead? They are not really important.
This is not a rant on pessimism but encouragement to enjoy what time you have left in this mostly beautiful world. Do your best to this end.

a real honest world peace would not be a real honest world peace if you /all peoples had to give up your faith/religion to achieve, faith is within from lifes personal experiences unique to you a whole way of life discarding it couldnt be requested by outside of you by force it would be like your eyes open but turning off your sight at will immpossible i think {unless in meditation but that is for gaining inner spirituality not decreasing it}how would life be basically with a big void there to live on with and nothing as personal and understood to replace it . lost aimless confused is not recipe for w.peace religion is freedom to practice belief with like minded people of same faith to socialize your faith be part of people of same goal, belonging .in sensilbe approach to religion it is only good thing .but to much room for crowd faith in religion leads to faith becoming impressed upon by more generalised thoughts and belief not nessicarily learnt by ones own life expiriences this is more faith from outside and is taught not life learnt no real grasp of faith is understood on apersonal level only a another persons account is fed to people earlier in life shaping mind not heart this i fear would be the case in lots of areas of religion/s so no true understanding of other faith would exist leading to ignorance and less acceptance of differences a recipe for no world peace lies here somewhere politics aworldy not spiritual idealism would be in a prime spot for total domination over everything as a means to a end something to lead the way where their is no real choice left looking up to a cooperation of faceless suits for salvation of some sort or another so keep your faith locked in place keep religion in perspective and watch the suits carrying on in circles world wide from time to time just to make sure their still there and not let loose in real day to day public domain.for the good of all even themselves not that they would admit it. or realise it even ) .peace...all
