Does such bring us perilously close to de-facto violation of the Patriot Act? NOW in America are we supposed to shut-up and do as we're told without question?

Ok, hypothetical situation. The government grows a pair and gets rid of all the illegals. What part of the economy will collapse? Can someone be specific?

My strawberries may go up by a dollar a pound. My life is ruined. I may have to mow my own lawn. Woe is me.

Our gas prices have doubled in a little over a year and everyone said the economy would collapse. Guess what? Americans adapted.

Maybe the government can take the money they burn on social services to illegals and subsidize the industries that will be affected by the loss of cheap labor.

I had a DUI a few years ago and served my time, community service, etc. The lawyer told me that the matter was closed and I wouldn't have to report it to employers; why not? I know it was a misdemeanor but I thought a conviction was a conviction. Why is this different?

With all the terrible loss of life going on in military conflicts, I am surprised that the greatest strength of the U.S. has not been used to a greater degree: technological advantage, with the financial wealth to optimize it.

So, for example, why not remote-control automated tanks, or small remote-control vehicles and other armed devices that infantry could use to explore dangerous buildings or neighbourhoods, etc.
It might be expensive, but it seems totally feasible with the technology now available. Think of the lives it could save!

I know there is some automation, such as drone aircraft, etc. but most of this seems rudimentary, and mainly useful for intelligence-gathering, etc. I've heard of robotic devices used to search rubble after disasters. Again, I'm surprised the military hasn't developed these technologies further.

Let's say the whole system changed, no corporate big bucks to buy campaigns with, but anyone could run equally with anyone else. So, who would you vote for? And why? What would they bring to this world? How would they deal with war and terroism, crime, poverty, sexism/racism, environmental issues (this is a biggie cause if our world goes so do we people). Okay...let's hear it!
