Unfortunately that's going to be the only way because doing what we're doing now is only going to do one thing and that's make sure that terrorism never ends, it,and the states that foster it and nourish it need to be eliminated, totally, period. War has been declared on the west in general and the US specifically because we are the largest and most powerful Christian nation; the aim of Bin Laden and Zawahiri and the rest of them is nothing less than an Islamic world, they have stated this publicly!!!, unfortunately for some reason these statements go unheeded, to our peril.

Terrorism thrive in clasdentine operations. They are masters in escape, evasion and concealment. Warfare can be a solution if the terrorists operate on a large scale. But if the terrorists operate on pocket compartmentalized groups, the solution is to track their movements by utilizing small tactic special units.

Not until a lot more people die. The problem with trying to destroy terrorism by attacking it is that the harder we push, the more they will push back. Without looking at the root causes of their discontent (and don't give me that "they hate us for our freedoms" crap), it will be impossible to erradicate terrorism. Every terrorist, or innocent person, we kill just pisses someone else off.

If, however, we attack the root causes of terrorism, whatever they may be, we piss off fewer people, and therefore create fewer terrorists. Granted, you can't please all the people all the time, but if you please more than you anger, you're taking a step in the right direction.

"There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root." Henry David Thoreau

Never and not just because we are dealing with terrorists in the worst way possible , war , because they lack the education to look past history and possesions to a time of peace .THEY have determined there will be no peace as long as they are on this earth and the enemy is the other guy .THE person they go after may or may not be responcible for the problems of the terrorist.HAD i been born and raised in a community of terroristic thinking individuals i may have decided to join them or even been forced by law to join a militeristic group,
I was not and so i try to explain to people that its the concept of killing as the solution to a problem that leads to terrorism as a method of attaining a goal.
TODAYS terrorist does not want an end to the problems he only wants to take as many as he can to the grave with him being the one to go to heaven .THIS is a religious belief that goes beyond the traditional thinking of a community ,and here in america we had a rash of birth control clinics that were bombed .the intent was to harm the building in most cases but some targeted the doctors as the cause.
THEy did not kill them selfs in the explosion but like terrorist's else where distruction and death seem to make some feel we can change the behavior of others through violent acts .
THIS thinking is created in the stories of your youth by well meaning people trying to teach you the best way they know how a sense of morality handed down through history in religious books .WHAT does god do to people who disobey his rules .till the new testement it was death and with the emergent police state it was give un to ceaser in jesus day .
WE have a long and violent history and our God's are part of this thinking .TILL we can teach the people of the world morality and kindness without violence of anykind then we will be stuck with terrorists .
I suggest the adaptation of all knowledge of hisory to begin showing how people worked together to solve the worlds problems all through history .THAT man did not battle man in ancient rome for the entertainment of his fellow man but it was simply a gathering place for lectures on peace and the sharing of goods from a prosperous people.
WE must begin to consciously erase our history from around us and write a more peacfull tale that does not include the treatment of people as cattle .Man was never a slave to others man was never a killer mann has always had peace.
UNLESS we can accomplis the changing of mans very thinking and religion and history we will have violence as our main weapon against those we feel opress us .
