I'm thinking about getting a guinea pig, and I know that "anything with teeth can bite," so don't bother telling me that. I was just wondering if anyone out there who HAS a guinea pig or has been around one a fair amount through either a friend or a relative who has one or pet shop employment/management/ownership could give me the details about their biting habits. I would like to know: 1)Do most guinea pigs bite 2)When you are selecting a guinea pig at the pet store, are you usually able to tell whether a guinea pig is a biter or not 3)Does getting a guinea pig at a young age reduce the risk of it being a biter (if so, what is a good age?) 4)How to quickly resolve the problem of a biting guinea pig 5)Any other piggie info you want to throw my way! Thank you and good luck to all! P.S. Feel free to include any personal experiences with your guinea pigs!!!

At a family gathering there was this little chihuahua that was mean to everyone and totally snappy. Anyways, it would always growl at people and when it growled at my 10 year old cousin, she smacked it on the head. the little dog yelped and ran away and I sware to you, after that day, the dog loved my cousin and would follow her around a play. Its was strange but got me thinking that animals really respond to a smack

He's devastated, a wire from his t.v. was hanging out(he didnt realise) and while he was upstairs Rufus (the rat) must have started chewing on it.He buried him today and threw out his t.v. cos it reminds him of Rufus. He's 23 and a really sensitive lad. I cant face him because I'm frightened of laughing. I have that problem of laughing at the most inapprpriate times! but I really love my little bro so what could I do?

I just got two hermit crabs form the beach about 4 months ago. i take very good care of them. But i came home today and one of my crabs looked dead. It smelled dead too. I picked him up and when i did i could feel that he was loose in his shell but he was not moving. And i could take the tip of my finger and pull him out alittle bit and hes never done that. But when i put him in about an inch of water, after 10 seconds he started to move and come out to breath. so he is alive, but he still has a bad fishy smell. I dont know what is wrong with him. My other one moves, and eats just fine. Ive looked on just about every site to find help but nothing has gave me an answer except for molting. But he only signs he has is notmoving much.
Can someone that knows alot about this please help me? It will be VERY much appreciated!

I recently moved into a house and have 2 dogs. The neighborhood is FULL of cats. Anyways, I have a large backyard with high fences and my dogs are outdoor dogs, and they just happen to HATE cats. They love people and other dogs but just despise cats and almost stalk them in my back yard. They have killed 5 and I see more out there. My neigbors are getting angry and saying my dogs are dangerous. What should i do?

Dogs or Cats? Why?

For people who choose cats just let me remind you that the answer, "you don't have to take them for walks" wont work, because you can, you don't have to your right but your just lazy and you just wont admit it and you know it. Cats have stinky breath too and dogs also like to cuddle. Dogs don't stink, they are very photogenic, and not all of them slobber.
Now after saying that I will admit cats are very sweet, and it is not like I don't like them. I just found this website though that just completley rips on dogs (and let me say most of them probally haven't even had a dog, cause just the way they talk about them makes them sound like monsters.). I just don't think that is right, and I want to know what you think?

I really would like to have another pet. I already have an old dog (16 years old), a wild cat that is a bit too shy, a long eared rabbit and long haired guinea pig.

The problem is, they don't give so much affection, and I really need some, certainly now that I'm in this years long depression... plus they are mostly kept by my mother and brother. (the cat only comes to me though. But eh just at some times)

I want a pet with some attitude, no fish or bird indeed. I want to receive much love and affection and be able to spend my time in them. So it's no problem if they seek a lot of attention!!

The only exception is: no other dogs. My dog can't take it anymore and would certainly die out of envy and sadness. (pity, I wanted a Bordeaux dog)

Oh and I have lot's of space to keep them, so that's no prob either.

Thanks already for reading =)
