We have had rats. They are very territorial she is showing attention but also "marking" you with her scent."

You likely are salty or have food on your hands, but I don't think she's marking you. If she were marking you, she'd be peeing on you. I don't believe they have scent glands around their mouths like cats do.

She's grooming you. It's a bonding experience. It means she feels close to you. My girls do it all the time, especially when I give them belly rubs (they'll grab onto my thumb and groom while my other fingers pet). Sometimes mine will stand on my shoulders, nestle into my hair (which is to my waist), and groom my head. It tickles, but I know they're trying to be good to me.

I don't know, mine does the same sometimes; maybe she smells food or something.
