Dogs or Cats? Why?
For people who choose cats just let me remind you that the answer, "you don't have to take them for walks" wont work, because you can, you don't have to your right but your just lazy and you just wont admit it and you know it. Cats have stinky breath too and dogs also like to cuddle. Dogs don't stink, they are very photogenic, and not all of them slobber.
Now after saying that I will admit cats are very sweet, and it is not like I don't like them. I just found this website though that just completley rips on dogs (and let me say most of them probally haven't even had a dog, cause just the way they talk about them makes them sound like monsters.). I just don't think that is right, and I want to know what you think?

Cats are lower maintence than dogs and require less attention. But dogs are more loyal and loving. I used to be strictly a cat person and never really had a desire for dog but I have 3 sons and with that, I was kind of out numbered with never getting a dog. So now we have a Lab and she is the highlight of my life, aside from the kids. She is so much fun than my cats, she wants to be with us, plays, and is a much better companion. The cats do their own thing and we might see them once in awhile and late night my youngest sleeps with me but that's it. The dog however is always with me, which I love!

I love dogs! Once you get past the potty training stage they are wonderful pets!! Ive had both cats and dogs before so they all have there pros and cons and it also depends on the individual personality and breed of each animal but there is just something about dogs I love. The loyalty and since of security, I love how they are protective and playfull! They love to come along with you in the car, to the park, and there are so many fun tricks you can teach them! They just seem to be more interactive and fun! I love how they get so excited when I come home and the cute little puppy pout face when they get in trouble! They are just so adorable! They don't call them mans best friend for nothing!

Dogs and Cats are responsibility. Lets not forget that they need shots and spay and neutering.. Cats can be put out on a leash etc as well if you train them as kittens. so Dog or cat.. it's all in what you prefer personally. If you have time to walk a dog a lot cool.. some people don't have time. You could walk a cat but they don't like it.. Cat's do thier business on the floor if they want to just like a dog.. so I say they are equal in responsibility.

I have two dogs and two cats, I love them all equally but the cats are so much easier to care for.
litter trained V getting up at 3 in the am
they bathe themselves V water from one end to the other
big bowl of food V sitting for hours cutting steak into chunks
MUST I GO ON >>>>>>>>I wouldn't change it for the world..

Cats are definitely low maintenance compared to a dog....they are easier to litter box train...you do have to take dogs outside...and dogs want attention where cats are content to curl up and be alone. But they are also sensitive to people's moods and will make themselves available for cuddling, or petting when you need it. And they do not normally chew up shoes, etc around the house.

id say cats, expecially if you are a single person....they show love and they are easier to house train and they are nice and more sound instead of hyper like a dog can be...Cats are my favortie because if you get the rite type of cat they dont shed as much and they dont have bad breath and lick you. yes i do have a dog and he is hype and jumps on you and gets ur clothes dirty which i know he will stop doing at a later time but a cat will never do.

I guess it will be useless to try to change your mind, you are obviously a dog person. I love both cats and dogs and have both as pets. They all have different personalities, and are loveable in their own ways. I do think that cats are a little easier to care for, as you don't have to let them out, just change their litter boxes. And you don't have to bathe them either, but doggies are really great friends too.

I completely disagree with any person that bashes another animal it is all preferance.
There is no one better pet then the other.
P.S. I think cat's breath stink too!!!! But I have 3 of them!

There, are dog people, and there are cat people.
I am a cat person, who is friends with a dog person and i see nothing wrong with dogs. I would even like to own a dog. My father, however hates them. it is just an opinion and both types of animals are fine.

NEITHER. Because I have had both in my life & now it's time for ME. Besides, everywhere I go, I seem to find a stray that is in need of assistence & if I had animals of my own, I wouldn't be able to help the others! It is far more rewarding to help an animal in need. ANY ANIMAL! This way, I don't have to go home until I want to & my bed is just as I left it!
