When my horses get aggravated or a little nervous when I am asking them to do something new, they ofter make a snorting sound. Anybody else's horses do that?

That's a common thing for your horse to do. It's one way they express emotions. Since he's doing it when your asking him to do something new, it's most likely him expressing his frustration or dislike for the task. One of my horses snorts everytime you try to load him on the trailer, it's just his way of saying he doesn't want to do it.

Snorting, nickering, neighing; they are all methods of communication for horses. Snorting often means frustration or dislike. Remember to take it real gentle when teaching something different to your horses. They're smart creatures, but even they know their limits. It could be you're either 1. overpushing them or 2. Your horse knows it can't do that trick at that particular moment.

One of our geldings snorts at everything. He does this when he is mad, curious, bored, etc. He vary rarely nickers, but snorts to convey what he is thinking. And is very expressive with it. It is just a form of communication.
