How can my dog have fleas if he's an indoor dog and only takes walks once every day for about 30 minutes? It's so sad, cause he's chewing and scratching himself to the bone. I've used Bitter Apple spray, but it doesn't seem to deter him. Do you think he has fleas, or just dry skin?

I keep my chinchilla in my bedroom. He's usually very hyperactive and happy to meet... just about everyone and everything. But last night, after I went to sleep and left him playing with a chew toy, a stack of shelves that I had set up on the wall collapsed. I had all kinds of stuff on the shelves, plus the boards themselves were pretty heavy--needless to say, it was LOUD! My chinchilla's cage is about a foot and a half away from the edge of where all the shelves fell down.

Today, when it was time for his dinner, he didn't come as soon as I shook the can, which I thought was strange. Also, when I was in a different room, I could hear him making those irritated noises--the little barks they make when they're unhappy or bothered. But he was all by himself! When I checked on him, he didn't respond to me tickling his chin or anything. When I tried to give him a treat, he just sat there.

I know chinchillas' hearing is a lot more sensitive than ours--is he traumatized now? What can I do?

Is there anyway I can get them to work? I think the problem is because of a handful of trouble making ant mofos. When I look at them, they just stare at me, and snicker. Are all modern ants like this, or what?

I did not notice this lump yesterday.. It seems to have grown to the size of a walnut in 2-days.
Any one out there who know a lot about Rabbits? I had no luck on the internet. It is a hard lump inside the skin, like a tumor, alongside his neck. I have been injecting his antibiotic since Monday. Does that affect a tumor to grow? He has been having a viral or bacterial infection going on for about 3-weeks now. Doctor told me the pills aren't as good as injectible antibiotic so we're doing that now. More direct and less dilution by the kidneys and liver.
I'm pretty upset so if anyone knows rabbits, has a rabbitry or similar experience, I sure would like to hear from you.
Thanks a lot.

My female rat Thelma had 5 babies on thursday night, and i need some information. I used to have rats when i was a kid, but i don't remember much. My main problem is the cage i have Thelma and her new family in is too small, i have a larger cage to move her to. What i want to know is when is it safe to move her and the babies to her new cage? And is it ok to clean her cage? How old do the babies have to be befor i take them away from Thelma? I know most of the basics, such as when she'll wean them, when they'll open there eyes and when they'll start getting fur and eating on there own. She's a really good mom, so i'm not worried about that. Thanks!!!

Ok, so I inherited a snake from my uncle. I believe it is a Burmese Python. It is VERY large. I'm finding the food to be more expensive then I want to pay for, given my limited income. So here is my quesiton, I can get puppies and smaller dogs from the pound for free,
how many should I get, and do certain breeds taste better? Would kittens be a viable alternative? Thanks a bunch and my python thanks you as well!

I have cleaned his cage and am wondering if his bedding or food could be infected with bug eggs. The bedding is wood chips that were donated and who knows if beetles of other insects infested it. It looks clean and is dry, but any ideas? Is there a meidcine or something that will rid him of these? This is really gross but he doesn't seem to have a health problem. Any help would be great!

My 11 week old bunny Bo has lost some nerve control in his hind liegs. He is being treated for e. cuniculi, a common rabbit parasite. I have read site after site to try & determiine what his chances are of regaining use of his hind legs so he can hop & play again. The vet does not really say, even though she has been extremely helpful. Does anyone out there have a bunny with this condition that has recovered?

I adopted a 3 year old Jack Rusel/Shitzu cross named Charlie. I know that he was bought from a breeder, and his mom was a purebreed shitzu and his dad a pure breed jack rusel.

I've never met anyone who had a cross like this and am curious to what their dogs personality is like and what they look like? Have they had any health problems?

Charlie is mild mannered, not very hyper but looks like a really shaggy jack rusel.
