If you think that you may get bored with a pet, DON'T get one. Pets are not like stuffed toys. They count on you to care for them. Why not get a plant if you want something to take care of? Your other option is to get a virtual pet online.

If you really must have an animal, try volunteering at your local animal shelter. They alway need people to walk dogs and play with the dogs & cats. Then you get to have a "pet", but don't have the daily responsiblities.

With that attitude you should get a stuffed animal. If you get bored with it, it should fit in the trash can. I pity any live animal that has you for an owner

Get a lizard ( a big one ), they don't need socialization and are content with a heat rock and food. If you want it to be cuddly put a fur jacket on it.
