I have cleaned his cage and am wondering if his bedding or food could be infected with bug eggs. The bedding is wood chips that were donated and who knows if beetles of other insects infested it. It looks clean and is dry, but any ideas? Is there a meidcine or something that will rid him of these? This is really gross but he doesn't seem to have a health problem. Any help would be great!

Get your hamster to the vet and get the proper meds.
Then, disinfect or throw out the cage and get all new bedding and food.
That sounds really bad.

You have mites or lice. They burrow into the skin to feed. They can come from anywhere: the pet shop, a bad bag of bedding, wild rodents wandering in your home, anything.

The best cure is a trip to the vet. It's easily treated, mostly likely with Ivermectin. However, it's a powerful drug and a very small pet so you'll need to get the vet to measure the doses otu for you.

Give it orally once a week to ten days. Repeat 3 times. I'd recommend also sterilizing the cage each day you treat to kill as many of the eggs as you can: scrub with hot water and soap, spray with disinfectant, let stand awhile, and rinse well. I know one hamster breeder who had to soak his cages in flea dip (rinse well afterwards!) because the bugs had eggs under the rim and in nooks-n-crannies.

Those larvae are a problem with Rabbits and Cows also here in Georgia. The old-timers call them "wolves". I have no research material with me. Take the animal to a vet and have him remove it. Those things are some kind of ugly and sickening to look at. I have seen them before, ugh! x 100 !!

Take him to the vet!!!! Remove that old bedding!!(not 'cause it looks clean means it is.) and clean the cage once more but take him to the vet ASAP. he could get a serious infection and die. Poor little fella :(

there is something called a "Hookworm" this is a small parasite that drills in direction of the soles of your ft, yet they are able to be taken care of with antibiotics, and are no actual threat except left untreated. there is not any truthfully insect that burrows on your pores and skin, apart from ticks. Ticks will bury their heads on your pores and skin whilst feeding on your blood, and in the event that they don't seem to be bumped off actual, their heads proceed to be and would desire to be bumped off by utilising a expert.
