when i was little i used to catch bugs fireflies, potato bugs, caterpillars etc then let them go the next day.
the best place for the Caterpillar would be in your back yard, but if you are really wanting to keep it
get a big jar w/ a lid make sure you punch several holes, make sure it is really clean, put a little moist dirt in the bottom, and some grass and leaves.and change the dirt and leaves every other day.

but fair warning it wont live very long in captivity.the best would be to let it go.

If you found it eating a leaf and want to keep it, then supply it with those same leaves. If you keep it in a simple container keep the temperature the same as it was when you found it. Also put some twigs in so it can hang its cu coon.

Don't recognise what you name it in which you are living however we name it a tomato trojan horse seeing that it eats our tomatoes and tomatoe vegetation up if we do not spray or kill it. We do not hold them round lengthy adequate to look what sort of butterfly it makes. LOL nfd
