Other - Pets - August 2006

Alright, so I bought a 4 level home, plenty of toys,littler boxes, ceramic food bowls, water bottles, and padding for the cage bottom (its made of wire, which coould hurt their little feet, so i protected it.) I also bought ferret shampoo and vitamins, and of course food and litter. i also bought a harness and leash to take them on walks every once in a while. ive ferret proofed my home and prepared enough money in case a vet visit is in order.

is there anything im missing or doing incorrectly in preparation for my ferret? it is one descented, neutured male with all shots and all that jazz.

Here's the stinch: I found a baby bunny (my cat dragged it in) on the living room floor.

How careful do I have to be about getting rabies? Can I get it from just touching it, or whatnot?

okay. i had a question before about one of my ferrets biting. and things are getting better now thnx to your guys help. but now i have an issue with them going to the bathroom. they use their pan just fine in the cage. but we let them run in our sunroom, and they have a pan in the corner. they know its there, and have used it. but now. they keep going to the bathroom, right next to it on the floor. its like they know its there, and only use it sometimes. idk y they randomly poo next to it instead. does anyone have any ideas why? or what i can do?

Here's the stitch - we have a baby bunny in a cat cage. How does one propely take care of it? How does one feed it? It has no mother, and the cat dragged it in..., we thought it was dead, but it's alive.

i've always thought that ferrets were like hamsters, not dogs. i've heard that some people let their ferrets run around the house with no cage or anything, but is it true? does anyone out there do that?

Hi, i live in the UK, and i saw a program about a zoo where they had endangered jumping rats... they are huge, and i was wandering if you could have one as a pet?.... i think they would be cool.
I used to have Degus, and i would also concider having two of those , if someone knows of good a supplier in UK?.

If someone can help me ,i dont want to pay an arm n leg for degus, as its a pet not an investment!
Im concerned that all Degus in UK are inbred's and so will have miss-aligned teeth etc.

my son and myself have 4 adult between us and both sets have had baby my sons is older than mine, but my babies are bigger and look healther then his my mum rat has taken two of my son babies to give the other mum rat a better chance did i do the right thing ? and how quik can she get pregnant again? please help.

I just noticed something about spiders and ticks. Both suck blood (one sucks the blood from a fly or some sort of bug, and a tick sucks out the blood from humans or animals). Now, I realize that there's no such thing as vampires and the only types of real vampires we have out there are vampire bats--but they only suck the blood of animals, not humans. Do spiders and ticks have some sort of link to vampire bats even if both aren't mammals?
