okay. i had a question before about one of my ferrets biting. and things are getting better now thnx to your guys help. but now i have an issue with them going to the bathroom. they use their pan just fine in the cage. but we let them run in our sunroom, and they have a pan in the corner. they know its there, and have used it. but now. they keep going to the bathroom, right next to it on the floor. its like they know its there, and only use it sometimes. idk y they randomly poo next to it instead. does anyone have any ideas why? or what i can do?

There are two training tip that I use and my ferrets are getting better... I use this when I'm helping in biting training too... When they miss. right after they are done.. scruff him and drag him accross the floor for about a foot and a half 2 feet. I know it sounds mean... but Mother ferrets do it any time to let their babies know they are getting out of line, BUT ONLY DO IT IF YOU CATCH HIM DOING IT. Other wise he won't nessicarly know why you are doing it.

If you see him going in the box make sure you give him a treat. especially the second he gets out of the box. I have started carrying a film canister with treats in it around the house. Soon enough they will start pretending to go in the litter box to just get a treat. Give a treat any ways he has the right Idea, Even if he isn't going...

Another idea is to keep their litter box fresh. I had one ferret that wouldn't go in the box if the other one did. She would do the same thing and poo right outside the box. We also had to put a litter box in every corner of the room we let them out to play in because they seemed to mark their perimeter as soon as they were let out. Newspaper or cardboard or even a puppy training mat under the litter box can be very effective.

Hehehe....life with lazy ferrets. It's rare to get them to be 100% accurate with hitting the litterbox, they aren't like cats. So it's not unusual to have them poop right in front of or beside the box. You could add another box beside it but that still won't entirely take care of the problem. Another thing you can do is spread newspaper around the boxes to catch their misses.

He must be high-quality, I might simply depart it's and permit it chip off on its possess then that means you will not damage the little man in besides. Definitely DO NOT use nail polish remover on him despite the fact that when you consider that the fumes could make him in poor health. I might simply permit him be "lovely in crimson" for a whilst lol! Hope I helped.:)
