Lol i do weight watchers but dont think i could make him count his points lol, so how much should i be feeding him for him to loose a little bit of weight? Thing is i got him from a cat and dog shelter a little under a year ago and when they got him he was close to death as he was starved and had been abandoned. I hate the thought of him going hungry after what he has been through and i always keep biscuits in his bowl for him to eat if he wants, am i just being silly with the not wanting him to be hungry cos of his past thing or do you think it might bring back bad memories for him of being hungry. I asked a question earlier about if i should take my cat Charlie to the vets as he had an ulcer, then decided i would as on closer inspection i thought he had gingivitus. Anyways i took him and he does have gingivitus and has been given synulox tablets for it, how long will these take to clear up his gingivitus and will he be in alot of pain in the meantime? I have done everything including buying these blue things at walmart for the dog to wet on. They look like incontinence pads. Nothing works. I would like to clean up the utility room and put some nice throw rugs down, but if I do the dog will wet on the rugs while I am at work. Any suggestions how to get her to stop?

omg my kitten is pregnant and she is only like i dont know 8 to 9 months old. ever since we knew that she was pregnant, she started losing hair. it started in between her shoulders but then spread to the middle of her back. the place where there is no hair is moist and tender to the touch. i need help! shes my baby and i dont want to lose her!!! please!!!???!?!?!!?

She is about four months old and I just got her spayed 3 days ago. All she has been doing is sleeping or just lying down awake, she only gets up to use her litter box and eat and drink water, then she goes right back to lying down. She has also been kneading on her blanky more than usual. It is also difficult for her to jump so she climbs instead. She has also been walking slow. I dont know if she is sad or in pain, the people at the humane society where she was spayed wouldn't give us pain meds (can I get over the counter pain meds?), and I dont know if this has anything to do with her problem, but she got internal stiches. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I live in Mpls and a pitbull killed a 7 year old boy, got him around the throat. I DO NOT blame the dog. He was chained up in the basement to a pole and it was a female with puppies.....what is wrong with these people!!!! Im very fearful for this breed cuz all of the stupid people who think its ok to own an aggressive breed dpg without proper socoalization and training......frustrated!!!

I was just reading a report by the RSPCA listing the most common reasons people give for getting rid of their pets. Some of these are:

> Pregnant / new baby
> Moving into a place that won't take pets
> Not enough money to care for the pet
> Not enough time to care for the pet
> Allergies

What do you guys think about this? Do you think there is no excuse for giving up a pet - is there always a way around it? Do you think there are certain situations where it is the best thing to do? Have you ever given up a pet yourself?

I am not thinking of giving up my cats, I am simply interested to hear your opinions.

I have never really thought about it until today. My friend saw my six 6" Silver Dollars and my two 8" Albino Oscars and asked me am I building them up to be on my dinner plate. Piranha are hunted for food, Silver Dollars are very much like Piranha and would probably taste the same. I know for a fact that Pacu is on the menu in some restaurants, and at least I know what my fish are eating. But the question is ' Would you do it???'

We have a full bred Boxer female, she is AKC an all. My husband wants to breed her when she is old enough. She is only 7 months old now and I am trying to convince him that this is a bad decission for us to try and breed her. I look at her as my baby and I just cant imagine her being a puppy making machine. I cant imagine having to see all the little pups and then having to sell them off wondering what type of homes they are going to. He seems to be convinced since we bought a full bred papered dog we should breed her. I just wanted a Boxer, I guess he had other plans. Can anyone please give me info on a website that gives facts about dog breeding and how much it will cost in the long run for me to convince him otherwise.

I have a blue parakeet, Ariel (female), who seems lonely. I would like to add a second parakeet to her cage. Ariel is shy, and doesn't like being out of her cage. I would like to know if, when I get this new bird, weather or not i should first put it in a different cage. Ariel is definitely not very aggressive. (She has a plastic bird in her cage, and she is always singing to it.)
