I am interested in getting a beagle, but I'm not sure if they are good dogs. I have a 1 and half year old. How are they around kids? (I'm interested in a puppy so it will grow up with her) I've heard that they howl alot.

also, would they be better than a Welsh Corgi? Thanks.

I want to get a Chow Chow so i can feel more protected around the house couse i have two little dogs a Yorkie and a Schnauzer, and they are a really great house alarm but that's it i love the mso much anyway, is it safe to get a chow chow , wen i have a baby hes 1 year old and i'm planning to get a baby chow but if is not safe for my son than i rether not, and if a chow is not good what dog would be a good protector and good with kids????

I went to walmart today and was horrified by the condition the bettas were in. They had at the most a 1/2 of water in their cups and at least 2/3 of them were dead or dying. My sister and I were only going to get one betta and save $ for clothes but as soon as we saw that we were thinking screw the clothes. So we rescued 10 bettas. Then on the way home 4 bettas died do we went back and rescued 4 females and 1 male. We complained to Walmart and they gave the fish more water, but it didn't have any dechlor in it. I am happy that the fish got water but is there more I could do for them to have a better live. I don't think bettas should be kept in stupid cups anyway with the way they are treated so could I email something like and ASPCA to complain about the poor fish care? Thanks for all that answer.

I have hade my male beardy for the past tow years. Why has he suddenly stopped eating? It started about a month or two after I got a hatchling female. I think she has somethimg to do with it, but what? She is doing great and growing fast. I planned on breeding them when she gets big enough, so I hope its not her. Please help me!!!

Our cats do this unusual thing when sniffing unusual smells. They hold their mouth open and it looks like their breathing through their mouth for a few seconds.

I know it's unusual for cats to breathe through their mouth, so do you think this is what their doing?

i am looking for a loving dog thats fairly quiet... loves people.. is cuddly and playful ... isn't ugly, and doesn't shed like crazy.... its ok if it does shed a little bit.

I have an 8month lab/pit who is a awesome dog. we had him for 4 months and he is a really good dog. only chews on his toys and is house broken. now, within the past 3 weeks, he is digging in my garden and when he is left alone for 15min he tears up my books and knocks all kinds of stuff on the table over{ and its tile so it beaks}. any idea why all of the sudden he is doing this? any methods of punishment i can do?

Dog has had chronic diarrhea for last 2-1/2 months since eating cat food, possibly spoiled. Negative test results for parasites. Was controlled, but not cured, with antibiotics and bland diet but problem returned once rice diet was reduced. Has now been put back on the antibiotics and rice/chicken diet and vet says she can be vaccinated in 2 weeks once the meds have again controlled the diarrhea. Vet says she may end up on these antibiotics long term. He does not know yet what is wrong with her. She had her rabies shot 4 months ago but not the 1-year booster yet. Do you think its okay to go ahead and vaccinate?

Please help! He looks so sick. He has sat at the bottom of his aquarium for two days and looks like he is weighed down in back. I fed him and he pathetically tried to swim up to get the food, and he swam almost straight up, but he couldn't get to the top of the water to eat the food. This is making me so upset, what can I do for him? He is two and a half years old and I don't know what to do, please help me.

Talking to the neighbor didn't help. They allow the dog to run free. It likes to jump on you and nip at you. It even put a hole in my daughter's skirt. The dog is in my yard everyday. I even found poop in my yard next to my front porch. The dog aggravates my dog and my kids. It almost got hit by the cars that drive down the street. The problem is we live right outside the city limits so the dog pound wont come and get it. What else can I do? Everytime I come outside my house, I have to shoo the dog out of my yard and it's so annoying.

I got these 3 mixed labs from an aunt for free. As it turns out, they are very sickly. One became hospitalized and the 3 had bad stomachs. After a few weeks, I thought that they were healthy again. But then I noticed the 2 were getting skinnier.... I was planning to take them to the vet tomorrow b'cos there's no vet today. Then one of my puppy was screaming, I saw that his left front paw was involuntarily moving, is this a sign of seizure or not? If not, what is this? How can I lessen the pain? By the way, I've noticed this with another puppy. Her front paw is involuntary moving too but it's still not as worse as the other. Is this infectious b'cos the 3rd puppy has no sign of it yet. I'm afraid she might catch it as well. Help pls I'm worried about them.

I have a 4year old Jack Russell X and we are trying to train him to be more of an out doors dog, but every time he is outside, he yelps, wines, screams and barks really loudly and at a high pitch. This can seriously go on all day, for hours on end. Our other dog, just gives up after a while and shuts up, but he continues regardless. On advice, we try to completely ignore him, not saying anything, or giving him any attention, but he still does it. We keep getting told, we have to be patient and give it time, but we have neighbours. Is there a way we can speed up the process, so not to annoy the neighbours? I am worried they will hate us (which i dont blame them for really. He is VERY annoying!)

i just noticed white dots on teh tops of the pectoral fins of my male goldfish. ... i dont think they werent there a few weeks ago-or a few days ago-, so im assuming this is ich? or are these typical male spots like the ones on this gill plates? its kinda strange... theyre on both fins in the same area.
