I am assuming that all of the packaging on dog food has an effect on the environment.

I have a very picky Poodle called Herbie, he will only eat Marks And Spencers Gourmet! (or whatever is on my plate) Needless to say this costs me a fortune.

I need to know - a homemade recipe I could make once a week and maybe freeze - to provide him with all of his nutrients.

He is a miniature Poodle - so he doesn't eat alot.

Thanks
Helen

I have a female Dachshund named Heidi. I know Dachshunds are possessive, jealous, and territorial dogs by nature, but a neighbor recently told me that her daughter is getting rid of her Dachshund female. I know this daughter is just not an animal person and doesn't really care for the well being of the dog. I wouldn't want her to take the dog to the pound because I know they euthanise around here because they're running out of room. I was thinking of adopting her, but I'm afraid she and Heidi won't get along very well. They are both around a year old. Would it be safe to adopt another female dog when Heidi is already the princess of the house?

But, I noticed today that she has a cut on her leg and a very swollen paw, after she was finished eating, she washed herself with it, so I know its not broken, is there anything we can put in her food to help with the healing process?

We have three dogs total, a 6.5, 5.5, and nine months. Our older dogs are housetrained and have always been allowed in the house all day. We started out by having the puppy in our bathroom for the first few weeks with wee wee pads and his own toys, and eventually allowed him into the house with the other two (which we now recognize was done too soon). My concern is how to now go about crate training the puppy when the other two dogs will still have free reign of the house. He is a very high energy, exuberant puppy and I am concerned that he will act out if in a crate. Should his crate be in a room the other dogs are in or confined to a part of the house the dogs are not allowed in during the day? We are anxious to get him crate trained as his behavior is destructive. They are only allowed in our kitchen and living room, but he gets into trouble. He is a 95 pound lab puppy, very lovable, but very high energy and I worry that being in a crate means he won't get to play as he has been.

What should I do to try to help them survive? Also the mama won't take care of them nor feed them.....damn her lol. What can I do? Please help. the 10 points will go to whoever's answer helps survive them. Thanks.

I have never owned a female dog before. Tinkerbell came out of heat 7-10 days ago as normal. only her teats stayed really long and swollen, now they have gone down in size but they are swollen underneath. To me they look like pups have been nursing (obviously not like but that is what it looks like).
She is 11 months old and I do have another male dog. I was very strict about keeping them separate but my husband was not all too bothered (grr) so there is a possibility she can be.
I do not know the beginning signs of a dogs pregnancy is. I'd like to find out and be prepared for it and have 60 days not 6!!

i'm looking at these breeds puppy pictures and they look exactly the same..... are there any differences so that we know for sure that a puppie is a rottweiler and not a doberman?

I have an 8 month old Pomeranian puppy. She is the love of my life and her training is going well, HOWEVER, she yaps at everything and nothing has worked. She is never alone as she goes to work with me so there is no anxiety or lonliness. She is walked for 45 minutes twice a day minimum so she gets plenty of exercise. Otherwise, she is a beautiful, sweet & calm dog. Her bark is very high pitched and LOUD and I do not blame people for hating it. I take her everywhere I go but am starting to make enemies with her barking. I bought a DogTra Bark Collar and am charging it up as I write this. I will put it on the lowest setting and go from there. Anyone had any experience with a small yapper?? This is a last resort or we will both stay home!

They are picky but enjoy lettuce and celery. I know they should eat rice but they hate it.

We have a kiddie pool for our dogs. They LOVE it! I have a lab mix and a jack/beagle mix. My neighbors say we spoil them because when they're not at home playing in their pool, we're out on the boat and the dogs spend all day playing at the sandbar. Is that spoiling? I thought we were giving them exercise while keeping them cool :)

I am taking her to the doctor tomorrow but I'd like to ease my mind by what this could possably be.
I bought her a collar with the glow-in-the-dark print on it and she started to get bumps around her neck, so i thought it was just an allergic reaction. Since then, they haven't gone away, and she started to lose hair on her back near her tail. I'm really worried about her, I am taking her to the doctor but I just can't wait to find out what is wrong with her.
She also has been acting different, she seems to sleep in these weird positions and sleeps more than ever. not like a half-awake sleep, but dead asleep, usually she wakes up really easy.
please be sensitive, I don't want any rude remarks.
Thank you.

It doesn't seem to hurt him ( I can press on it and move it around) and it's been there for a few months. We have a checkup in December, should I go earlier?

It doesn't really matter the time. I wake up to her licking my face and arms. I'm glad that she is so affectionate, but I need sleep! It has nothing to do with hunger, I leave a bowl of food out for her, she just won't go over to it until I'm awake. What do I do?

It just started its first rain here and I didn't know how my puppies would react. Well... they have a doggy door and they keep running in and out, frolicking in the rain. and then they will come inside and tear around the house in an extended FRAP episode. It's quite hilarious. However, my mom says she can't get her rat terrier hardly to go out in it. I love my puppies! (american bulldog mix and a jack russell/pit mix) Happy Friday everyone!
XOXOXO
