I am taking her to the doctor tomorrow but I'd like to ease my mind by what this could possably be.
I bought her a collar with the glow-in-the-dark print on it and she started to get bumps around her neck, so i thought it was just an allergic reaction. Since then, they haven't gone away, and she started to lose hair on her back near her tail. I'm really worried about her, I am taking her to the doctor but I just can't wait to find out what is wrong with her.
She also has been acting different, she seems to sleep in these weird positions and sleeps more than ever. not like a half-awake sleep, but dead asleep, usually she wakes up really easy.
please be sensitive, I don't want any rude remarks.
Thank you.

Ignore don s's insensitivity, maybe he's had a bad experience or is just plain mean.
I'm no expert, but that does not sound like Cancer, which tends to be lumps, not bumps, and not so many in such a quick period of time.
Sounds like an allergic reation to the collar, some animals are extremely sensitive that way, mine sure is.
You are smart to be taking her in to be seen, the sooner you treat a skin problem the better for both of you.
Could also be parasites or fungal infection (ringworm), all highly treatable.
Call your Vet back today & tell the Vet tech you are experiencing a lot of anxiety & want to brace yourself for the worst, could it be Cancer, etc.
That way they can specifically & usually quite empathetically address your specific concerns & put your mind at ease.
I'm no Vet, but I've seen this before & it's usually fleas, etc.
I tend to really stress when my kitty is sick, but honestly, even I would not be thinking the big c at this time.
Be prepared for rude Yahoo answers, thare always will be some jerk telling you to put the cat down, etc, some people are just mean that way.
If you don't get enough relief, try an on line homeopathic Vet, mine is Dr. Judy Stolz. They do phone consults, and my kitty is happier and healthier at 11 than she's ever been before.
This is after 4 seperate Vets who couln't offer more than Prednisone on an ongoing basis & the rotten side effects that come with long term Pred.
E-mail & let me know how it turns out if you'd like.
I think you will be relieved after seeing the Vet =)

I agree with DS after reading that, could be neurological response to the toxins & I would rush to the emergency Vet if yours is not still open, or call back and stress that the neurological symptoms are rapidly worsening, this is an emergency, and you need to be seen now so will be arriving shortly. Good catch D S !

That sounds like allergies. She could have fleas (which are not always visible to the naked eye). Flea Allergy Dermatitis causes severely itchy bumps and rashes and usually starts around the neck. If the fleas are feeding on her enough, she could be anemic now, which would cause the general sick demeanor. If this is the problem, the vet will probably recommend Frontline Plus or Advantage. If your cat goes outside, it would probably be best to put her on Revolution because it protects against heartworm as well as ticks, lice, and fleas. If she's bad enough, ask for a Capstar tablet to kill any fleas that are on her. This way she will begin to recover more quickly.

If she has fleas, there are probably fleas in your home, as well. Our vet told us not to worry about treating our apartment, but to keep both of our animals (cat and dog) on the Revolution, and to empty our vacuum after every run through the home. So I've been vacuuming every day, then taking the canister outside, dumping it into a bag, sealing it up, and throwing it in the dumpster.

Another high possiblity is that she was allergic to the chemicals in the collar.

I hope she's ok!

Your kitty has fleas!!! The bumps and hair loss is due to what is called "flea allergy." As far as your kitty sleeping more than normal........your kitty could be anemic. A nasty long lasting flea infestation can cause anemia in adult kitties as well as kittens. You will be able to purchase flea medication at your vets office. I highly recommend buying it from your vet because the products that can be purchased at stores is pretty much ineffective and a waste of money. Ohh, you should also have a fecal check done on kitty. Kitties with fleas often have and intestinal parasite called tape worms.

She's having a severe allergic reaction to the chemicals on the collar. Even though you removed it, the chemicals have infected her. Get her to an emergency vet immediately -DO NOT WAIT until tomorrow, then it might be too late. If you need help finding one near you please contact me.
