My 13 year-old cat Burmese, Coco, died this June and I'm having a hard time getting through the death.
She died of Kidney failure, when we put her down, she was so weak I wasn't even able to hold her and say good-bye. I said good-bye but it didn't feel like it was enough.
I loved her so much. She would stay with me at night and let me hold her in bed.
I have a 6 month old tabby kitten now, who we got 3 days after she died. I don't feel close to her at all. She doesn't stay on our bed at night and fall asleep in my arms like Coco did.
I hate talking about her because it makes me sad all the time. I'm so used to seeing her sprawled out in front of our heater, now she's not.

Any advice on how to deal with her loss?

Somebody told me that all black cats have at least a few white hairs on them, usually located on their chest. Mine has absolutely none. BTW his favorite holiday's coming up!! His name is "Slag".

walking home with my g/f last night, we spotted a group youths attatching fireworks with masking tape to a very frightened cat(to its legs/body). totally outraged i this i went over to them and asked them what they were up to. "just a bit of fun" they said, thinking nothing of the cruelty and needless suffering to the cat.
taking the matter into my own hands i showed them that it's much better fun to also strap a few fireworks to the cats head(the explosion is excellent) and uses a larger percentage of the cat. surely if kids are going to inflict needless pain and suffering on animals they should at least use it's whole body. i've never witnessed such a waste, i'm furious

I just brought a new male ferret home a day ago, I already have a female. And when the male gets near the female he begins this low pitched rapid chattering. He doesn't seem scared and keeps going back to her wanting to play. Is this something I should worry about? Does it just mean that hes happy/excited, or does it mean he's scared? Someone please help.

I have done a LOT of research on the breed of dog I want (Golden Retriever). I understand that they are very active, need a lot of grooming and bathing and I know that they can get expensive (just like any other breed of dog). I have been going on 30 minute walks each day to proove that I will walk him/her each day. I have some pocket money that I will use to buy it's food, toys, crate etc.
I know that dogs are a very big responsibility.

My dad doesn't mind wether I get a dog or not, as long as I look after it, which I will. My mum just want's to make sure that I know what I am getting myself into. 10-13 years of walking each day and loving this dog with all my heart.

I am turning 13 soon and I don't do many things after school so once I get home, I will be able to take him/her for a walk.

Any advice on how else I can proove to my mum, that I am responsible enough to get a Golden Retriever?

She is 8mths old and is killing about 2 birds a day, She seldom eats them, it is just a game to her. I'm not a fan of cat collars as I am frightend that she may get caught on a branch in a tree.

X rays didn't show anything, abdominal surgery showed only part of intestine was blue, when the vet moved it it turned pink, didn't find anything else. Considering costly MRI or CT. He seems depressed, lacks motor skills, stumbling, bad breath, fever, sensitive around neck and head. Came on over night. No vomitting or diarrhea. 12weeks old
