Can I take them on the plane? Will they have to go in cargo? Will they have to be sedated? Will I have problems getting them through customs? Is there anything else I haven't thought of?

Thanks,
Pete

Hi all, my sister recently moved into a new house. The problem is the previous owners left their two dogs in the garage and they peed and pooped all over the floor. It is clean now, but the smell is so bad you have to keep the door closed to the house. They have tried, bleach, vinager, lysol. Nothing has worked. Any recommendations?

Which is your best?

Mine's dogs -but not the small yappy ones or the angry bitey ones.

Good old-fashioned mongrels are my most favourite thing in the whole wide world! They are amazing.

I am away at school, and the dog is here with my mom and the rest of the family. The dog has changed. Our dog is a small house dog, and I found out my mom has been letting him outside to roam around by himself. I don't think this is safe, because usually, we take him on a leash. So, she says she will let him out for 45 minutes, and then come to the door and he'll be sitting there waiting to come in. Isn't this dangerous? She doesn't like to keep him pent up because he likes to go out. We are from a little country town, and while it's probably not as dangerous to do this as it is in the city, there are still a lot of other stray dogs roaming around the place. Another thing is, now he feels like he needs to be out aaalll the time. Case in point? This morning at FIVE, he comes jumping on my bed crying because he wants to go outside. So, grumpily, I take him out. Does he use the bathroom? Nope. He wants to go and play, and walk down the streets. I don't know what to do.

It's not his teeth or eyes as they've been recently checked & are fine.
It's not his bit as he does it in a headcollar.
Its a bit of a funny time of year for pollen sensivity so I dont know if a nose net would help
Has anyone had any success with herbal remedies that are on the market?
Any feedback would be really appreciated as it's getting a bit disconcerting to ride him and its irritating him as much as it is me.

I walk or ride my bike everyday. There is this one house where a cocker spanial runs out at me almost everytime i go by.I defend myself against the dog.I called the animal control on this dog yesterday and the owner got a warning to keep it on the leash.I went back out later and the person that owns the dog and her husband and children tried to confront me about the matter.I called the sherriff and gave them a report of this because i felt like they were trying to start a phisical confrontation with me.Would you continue to walk or ride as if nothing had happened?Or would you avoid the area altogher ,it is a public paved road.I do not provoke the dog but it does me and then the owners want to get pissed off at me for defending myself. What would you do?I told the owners to keep it on the leash or i would call the aspca back again and this time they will fine them.feedback please?

My cat drinks by dipping her paw into the water and then licking the water off her paw. It is very odd. Cute, but odd. I give her clean water and there are two different bowls in two different areas of the house, but she does this at both. Any ideas why she does this?

I have 2 dogs, a jack russell and a rat terrier. We used to always make sure there was food in there bowels at all times. But then the jack russell started to gain a ton of weight. Now we follow the back of the dog food bag guideline. It is premium dog food. My dogs get normal activity, but now they act like they're starving, is this normal? My dogs are healthy otherwise.

We bought a Boxer puppy last week and have been calling him Piddles, for lack of a better name. The family is in a dead lock about a name. We have discussed Ceasar, Diesel, Dozer, and Maximus (Max). Please give me your suggestions, or discuss what you named your dog and why. Thank you.

When ever the cats are left home for any lengh of time, they drag out any clothing they can find. Dirty or clean it does not matter to them. I have caught both at one time or another carrying around a sock or other item. It is very funny to see it when they are doing it, but can be embarrassing to bring someone in and not have a clue what they have dragged out! Does anyone know why they would be doing this?

I have two cats, both spayed, the first is over five years old, the second is 1 year and 2 months. They get along very very well, and have always been loving and well-behaved.

I just moved apartments over a week ago and went from hard wood floors with rugs on them to wall-to-wall carpets. The cats seemed relatively unaffected by the move--I would even say they love the new place more--the youngest was up and about (she is curious about everything) as soon as we let her out.

Now, for the first time since we've had her, she has started peeing on the carpet in two different places. She poos in the litterbox with no problem. She has done this three times now, and I don't know what to do. Besides the peeing, I would say her behavior is the same as it was in the old apartment if not happier. Anybody else have the same thing happen to them? Any advice? PLEASE HELP!

Yesterday I taught my dog to speak on command. Now, when I give him other commands he barks at me. He NOW barks every time I give a discipline command, or tell him to play dead (both things he never liked to do). And this morning he woke me up to his barking. He never barked so much until yesterday, AFTER I taught him the command. I usually use a spray bottle when he misbehaves. But, I tried using the spray bottle yesterday, and he kept barking, and got louder. I now tell him to “hush” when he is barking without the command. How do I teach him barking is unacceptable unless on command?

btw – he is a boxer/pitt mix 14 months. We just adopted him from the SPCA 3 weeks ago.
