I have a dalmatian and a husky/shepard mix. They're both awesome dogs. I walk them about 2 miles per day, which helps keep them exercised and obedient, and also helps me to not be a fat ***. I prefer big dogs that you can play with, but that's my preference. Go to the local shelter-you may find a dog there that steals your heart. You'll be helping the local animal population, and could save your boyfriend tons of money! Good luck!

I love Labs but if you were going to be more adventurous I love Dalmatians but they take a lot of work and looking after, I was also toying with the idea of a Beagle. But I think id be happy to re home a dog any type!!!

I show Labradors and they are the best dogs. Lots of energy though so you have to take good care of them and provide them with plenty to do. Same goes for Sibes which are even crazier than Labs (ya I asked "How can THAT be?" as well) lol Siberians are such beautiful dogs, if they didn't require country living I would have them in a heartbeat.

my favorite have always been big dogs, at this time i'm partal to sight hounds greyhounds, whippets, Italian greyhounds,. i have a cross bred Labrador greyhound now i want a Pharaoh hound.it depends on what u want, please go to A.K.C.com and ck out the breed profiles to find a breed that fits your life, if you only look at a dog as a accessory, you will harm the dog and yourself. and please be a responsible pet owner, get your dog fixed ,always keep your mind and eyes on your dog when you are out in public, and get yourself some training to make your dog a helpful member of society.

i have a basset hound who i love. The Basset Hound is sweet, gentle, devoted, peaceful and naturally well-behaved. They fit into family life well. Their temperament should always be friendly with never an indication of sharpness or viciousness. They are mild but not timid; very affectionate with its master and friendly with children. It is incapable of biting, but it may be a bit stubborn. They like to do tricks for food. It has a deep musical bark. Housebreaking is difficult, but they do well with gentle patient training and positive reinforcement. With proper training, they are obedient, but when they pick up an interesting smell, it's sometimes hard to get their attention.

I love any breed of dog, but my favs are the Border Collie and German Shepard.

We have a BC and she is great, but not for just any owner. They can bore easily and sometimes become neurotic. They require tons of excercise and the daily stroll isn't enuf for them. They are thinkers and if not challenged mentally, they can become destructive in their behavior. We are persuing agility simply for the fun for us and her and the excercise she will get, as well as mental stimulation.

I love my Dalmatian that my bf bought last year, although he is a bit of a handful at times but that's the joy of having a puppy.
