This is a bit like the chicken and egg question
you takes your choice !
I have had the privilege, of being owned by several ,
friendly affectionate cats, in the past
, they have gone to '' the rainbow valley .''
to play among the cat-nip, in great old age .
i do miss them very much
I have three beautiful dogs now,
they are great companions, and i love them to bits.
And they love me unconditionally.
what more can i say -----
People who like and respect animals, are happy people !
and i am one of those lucky ones .

I like dogs, but not the little yappy ones or bitey ones, just as you said. When it comes to pets that I am comfortable living with its cats. Cats don't usually stink, they don't bark, they don't chew shoes, they do cover up their waste. I love the way they sit on my lap and purr and look at me with love in their eyes, put up their paw and touch my face. I also like the way they talk to me. Its a match.

You CANT pick, they serve two entirely different purposes as pets. Of course cats arent going to go camping and hiking with you like a dog, but then again a dog isnt going to be content cuddling in your lap for 8 hours straight while you study (without licking incessantly or chewing on your pillow). Cats and dogs are both awesome, both for different reasons.

Its sooooo got to be dogs - but I agree not the yappy ankle biters.
Mongrels are great - no two are ever the same. We have cocker spaniels and they have got the most amazing personalities (and ears!).
Cats are too fickle and snooty, but if there was ever one in need would make room for it in our house.

There are good things about both of them... I personally prefer cats though. I had a dog once, but I had to give her away because we didn't have the time to give her the max amount of stimulation, so that certainly doesn't make dogs any higher on my list. Cats are easy, clever, fiesty, and silly so I like 'em best!

i love my cat - old and affectionate, cuddly and no trouble..... apart from pooing on me carpet now and again.
I've had a dog i the past and I also loved him to bits, i wouldn't have a dog now purely because i live on my own and the house being empty is not nice for a dog. a cat doesn't care, so much more independent!!

Dogs of course....
cats are selfish and become boring once they pass the kitten stage..
I have a German Shepherd,Husky cross He`s the best dog ever
small ankle biters are just rats pretending to be dogs

I love dogs, but I own a cat since i don't have much time to take care of a dog and I live in a flat so i don't have a yard...

While I prefer Dogs over cats, all four in my family are split pretty evenly.
We have a Dog, (my son and I lay claim to her sloppy but ever-lovin' ways)
We have a Cat, (my husband and daughter coo over her and are usually covered in scratches for it -whatever).
Both are definitely big parts of our family and - fortunately equally loved. (I can't say the same for the snake I insist stay in the garage).
