Why do people act like just because the news says something its true.....they own the information so they can change it all the want.

But they won't do anything to change what is happening in our society. What I mean is that we don't challenge our politicians when they make horrible policies and laws that affect us in a negative way. We can make change. what are you as a citizen going to do?

Does anyone agree with me that the very same Princess Diana worshippers who so angrily denounced the photographers who they believed caused her death are the very people who created a market for those photographers by eagerly buying every magazine and newspaper that contained a picture of her? Is this total blatant hypocrisy or not?

Now obviously I am opening myself up to opportunites for cheap shots and other frivolity here but please let's get some serious discourse and thoughts shared here. I don't mind discussion of race and socio-economics its real and a factor so don't be timid (don't be dumb either).

I could have asked, "whose pain is more marketable/palatable?" but I didn't because its a little rhetorical. Anyone who wants to share serious thoughts (but may be a little shy of the forum) can email me instead.

"We need 4-5 articles every six weeks, about 350-400 words each with photos, if necessary, and captions." Would $400 per article be too much? I really need to hear from professionals. Thanks!!

I particularly love the paragraph about the elderly couple with the twitchy movements of drug users.

80% of elderly America use drugs. It's a thriving legitimate industry.

Here guys, why don't you kick the poor... I mean, they're down. They can't fight back...

A disgusting viewpoint told without any trace of supposed Christian compassion.

The author of this screed claims the name of Mathew Briggs. Somebody pays him to write this shite.

This fact always interested me: WKNU, KPGN, KOAC, etc. are a kind of names that are hard to remember and if you hear it for the first time, it would probably confuse you. Why not just give them more recognizable names like: "Jazz FM", "Radio Freedom", etc. It would make a lot more sense.
And where did this habit come from (naming stations using abbreviations)? Thank you in advance.

After hearing of protests against a TV programme, I looked up the details in a listing magazine, and it appears to be something worth seeing.
I would not normally be interested in this much overdone subject.

All this written about the media covering Madeleine & ignoring other cases is hogwash. The only reason we are so taken up with Madeleine is 'cos of the media. The media does their job & we lap it up. So its great what Gerry & co. do.Its serves their purpose to keep Maddie in the news.

First, leaving their babies alone was inexcusable & wrong; legally & morally.
They are (worse for them, their Madeleine is paying for it) & they will be charged for neglect. Where i come from, there was a case on May 2 where a new born baby boywas abducted right from his mother's arms in the hospital bed, four hours after birth, by a woman posing & dressed as a nurse. Now, this wasn't a 5star resort. It was a hospital meant for the poor. The parents are people who live on the streets. They don't know from where their next meal will come from. A newspaper covered it & just like Madeleine's case it touched our hearts & minds & we prayed & worried over that little child & his parents. Thankfully, our good police force came thru' & traced that woman & returned the child to his parents after 5 harrowing days. (Its another sad story that the woman couldn't bear her ownchildren & was being harrassed by her mum-in-law for it & so sought her own sorry way out). Sorry to drift...but my point is that this case was given coverage despite the fact that these people were the poorest of the poor. So, don't flak the media attention the McCanns get just 'cos they're doctors & well off...They have something in common with a family living on the streets...a child abducted.
