tonight at the courthouse. It is Halloween. What are your feelings about them, it showed a picture of at least 250 of the backs of their heads on the news. ONE NIGHT, one act is all it takes.

I mean cummon yeh ok the media can help create people such as celebrities & help to catch criminals obviously through their world wide reports etc but don't you think they're going to far just for the sake of a story? they are ruining peoples careers not to mention thier lives over exaggerating thier reports and stories just to earn extra cash! I mean just look at the Diana Princess of Wales incident I think the papparazzi where most definately to blame, yes the driver may have been intoxicated and over the legal limit! But cummon very person deserves that right to thier privacy and I can understand peoples frustration to avoid media attention. Extreme Media attention for illlegal puposes I can understand if there is a serious crime being investigated but not something like the Princess of Wales dining out with a loved one for example! It has caused her life to prematurely come to an end! The media can build you and easily destroy you that's gotta be wrong surely!

Heather Mills has launched a fierce attack on the press, comparing her treatment at the hands of the media with that of Kate McCann and Princess Diana.
Tell her what you really think of her:

Has this woman lost the plot?
Now she is likening herself to our Diana....................
She deserves all she gets.........gold digger is too good a description of her.......when she gets her fortune pay off she can go off and live like a hermit in peace and quiet away from all the press.
We would all like to have done charity work full time for the past 18 years but regrettably some of us do have to work!!

I have become fed up with the New York Times. I read it daily, but lately I have become very dissatisfied with it. The only section somewhat respectable is the Cover "A" section. But it is on average 25 pages long but at least half of that is full page adverts. The business section is seriously lacking and usually bare. The rest of the sections are rubbish. Recently there was an article about Dumbledore being gay. Is that really appropriate for the New York Times to report on. Is the New York Times becoming a pop culture paper similar to the post or other tabloids?

Can anyone offer an alternative? What are your views on the wall street journal?

Does the Wall Street Journal have coupons on Sundays? Like, the ones you clip to go shopping for grocery, etc?

very hard to believe.

Throughout the years I've read about AIDS and some of the best believe theories from many scientists. Some of them were one written by a Cuban doctor whom insisted it was brought to the US by people in the Mariel boatlift. I believe she works in a Miami university.

Second was about a foreigner (won't mention his origin) whom was a flight attendant whom had had intimate relations with between 2 thousand and fourth thousand men!

Both these theories were thoroughly explained. A third was that it was brought into NYC by gay sailors in the 1976 US 200th anniversary!

Now this theory of having it been around since 1969!

I am not saying what Micheal Vick did was right. I am saying he shouldn't be punished. (I don't think he should lose his football career over it).

There are other events that happen that far outweigh what Vick did. These incidents were barely mentioned in the media. A young girl was kidnapped, tortured, and raped by 6 people in W. Virginia. Six teenage male were unjustly charge with a far more heavier crime than what they did.....Jena Six.

This was swept in under the rug, one of Vick's teammates killed his girlfriend's dog with his bare hands in retaliation. What do yall think of all of this?

I personally like Olbermann and I have heard from some people that his ratings have gone up and that he is close behind Billo.

i write for my university's student paper, doing gig reviews. obviously it would be very helpful if i could get some sort of press pass so i can get some decent pics etc.
i have asked about it at the papers meetings but due to lack of staff and money it keeps getting forgotten about- its on the "to do list"- so i thought id just try to get it done myself.
so how do i go about getting a press pass???

but its interesting to decide what one would do.
the siyuation;
you are in the middle east,and there is a huge flood in progress,many homes have been lost,water supplies compromised and structures destroyed.youare a photographer getting still photos for the cnn news service and are travelling alone,looking for particularly poignant scenes.
you come across osama bin laden who has been swept away by the floodwaters.he isbarely hanging on to a tree limb and is about to go under.you can either put down your camera and save him or take a pulitzer prize winning photograph of him as he loses grip of the limb
so heres the question...and think carefully before you answer the question below;
which lens would you use?

In an effort to introduce MORE reality tv (for better ratings), networks are tossing around ideas that could threaten shows like Greys Anatomy, Criminal Minds, NCIS,etc. with more b.s. reality. What would be your solution in a room full of CEO's for NBC,CBS,ABC,etc. (For mass comm class debate). I want to see if great minds think alike. (Hint: ways of using today's modern technology to maintain a ratings system so that our fave shows can stay on the air and for those of us who like "a little" reality or "a lot" of reality but also like primetime TV can enjoy both!! Devise a plan! Also to show appreciation for the great writers who keep the shows coming who, otherwise, would be out of a job if networks are overthrown by Reality TV.
