Brian Williams, anchor for NBC News, is on the Board of Directors for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. Last year, he was scheduled to be the Master of Ceremonies for a dinner that was attended by, and honoring, over 100 living recipients of the MoH.
Williams announced at the beginning of the dinner that he needed to leave because he had pressing business in New York.
What was the pressing business? A family engagement, a big news story, an emergency?

Williams had a ONE MINUTE CAMEO on "Saturday Night Live"!!

Is this the example he should set for others? Is this any way to treat the 100+ men in attendance that had risked their lives for the love of their country?

Can anyone provide a valid excuse why an appearance on SNL is more important than the Medal of Honor??

If you need more about this, the story is available online

What's up with the news reports lately? Do they have nothing else to report about that Hilary Clintons laugh is a hot topic? Does any one else find this ridiculous?

Suddenly all I see is Michelle Smith anchoring the 6:00 (p.m.) news on CBS - 6, Albany, N.Y.. What's going on, and what's happened to Liz Bishop ?? Has she retired ? Did she quit ? Has she been fired ?? I swear, I've never seen a tv channel that shuffles / sheads news personell like this one.. Here today & GONE tomorrow.. What's their problem anyway ? Just get used to seeing one reporter and the next thing you know, they're GONE !! Liz Bishop IS Channel 6 news, whether THEY choose to acknowledge / admit it or not !! I have absolutely nothing against their newer reporters, for the most part, they're excellant, but we " older / long time " viewers, at least this one, have watched Liz since her first days on this network and think of her as " family ", my apologys to younger viewers or those who don't share my view-point.. Cripe, even I watch news on other channels sporatically, but always keep coming back to Liz on 6, at 6.. But then, you know what they say about opinions !! LOL !! ;-))

I've always had a gift for writing. Ever since i was little. I'm a junior in high school now, and i have college prep english and will probably change to the Honor's class once i ace the college prep english. I think the career that would fit me the most is journalism because of my gift of writing plus my interest in news, politics, etc. But i don't want to be the one reporting it in front of the camera. Anything else is fine, but it seems like the most successful journalist are the ones in front of the camera. Can i be a very successful journalist without being the one on tv?

Please give me as much information as possible..thanks

Do you think that the body guard's allegations are truthful or are they made up, regarding Brittany drinking and walking nude in front of the children. Are the children better off with the father?

I was just contacted by a major national newspaper who's writing a story on an event that happened at a nightclub. I was there shooting and they want to publish a couple of my photos.

I have no idea how much to charge them. They almost sounded like they wanted the photos for free though.

First of all. Hi, my name is Jenn and i need opinions for a Freshman school project.

The media is literally stalking celebrities these days. And keeps on interrupting major news. For exapmle, instead of talking about the toy recalls with the Mattel company, people would rather talk about how Britney Spears' custody battle between Kevin Federline. Is this a concern for our saftey? Because instead of hearing about the recall on foods or toys painted with lead, we'd hear on the news about Tom Cruise and his new movie.

The media needs a good reality check. Nothing is all fairy tales.

I have a BA in English and I am at a loss as for where to start - I know you have to draw the reader in - any help would be great from someone with experience. Thanks

I don't know of any way to volunteer, and I'm trying as hard as I can to help a friend get into this. Any suggestions?

And if this is in the wrong category, where should I put it? This is my best guess on where it goes.

For over 10 years I have been watching the Los Angeles evening news on KLTA with Hal Fishman. Regrettably he died some weeks ago. I miss him a lot. Any clues if KLTA is trying to find us a similar anchor (old, experienced, Anglo, charismatic)? Have you noticed there is no more commentaries with Leila Feinstein? Do you miss Hal too?
