best way to learn about The Fuhrer is to read HIS OWN BOOK--it is called MEIN KAMPF--(My Struggle) and was written by him in the mid-1920's while in the Landsberg Prison. He had been arrested and jailed for a failed attempt to take over the German government in 1923. If you still have a need for more, the other best book is the Rise and Fall of The Third Reich.

All books are biased. There is no such thing as fact, in any way shape or form. All facts are persuasive tools used to persuade people of something. Some facts are necessarily more persuasive to us (for example, pictures tend to be persuasive, if we believe they haven't been staged or altered), but there is no proof, only conjecture. This is especially true for a figure like Hitler. Your best bet is to try to find multiple books which seem to have different perspectives and decide how persuasive each argument is.

Well you have Hitler's Autobiography (Mein Kampf) which gives a good primary source of what happened in Nazi Germany. Although I have to admit it is biased, coming from Hitler himself, it gives an unrivaled documentary of what happened in the Nazi regime by someone who was actually there. Another good book that I've read is a book called 'Seduced by Hitler' by LeBor, which covers very interesting and detailed facts about the Nazis.

Try Hitler by Joachim Fest, its about 900 pages, but I've found it to be the most comprehensive book I've come across and I studied him in college.

Read Mein Kampf which is Hitler's own book. I read it as a child and it will give you a lot of insight into how he thought- not what someone else says he thought but what he actually thought- he wrote it.

Not to be negative, but you're going to have a hard time finding an accurate biography about Hilter that isn't biased. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Every biographer tells their story in their own way. But, I don't know how you are going to ever find a book about Hitler that is not bias against him. The man was, bar none, the most evil person who has ever lived. Thousands of books have been written about him, and most of them paint a pretty horrible picture of the man. What you should do, is read some memoirs of people who survived his attempts to eradicate them. That is the way to get a real picture of the man.

Have you watched Downfall? (German language film)
I'm sure you have but it is a supremely good quality film and doesn't portray Hitler as the normal caricaturised version in so many films and therefore possibly is historically more correct.
