I was just contacted by a major national newspaper who's writing a story on an event that happened at a nightclub. I was there shooting and they want to publish a couple of my photos.

I have no idea how much to charge them. They almost sounded like they wanted the photos for free though.

Note: The photos are relevant to a story they're writing about an attempt at the World's Biggest Watergun Fight.

They had a reporter there writing the details on the event and I was shooting photos for the club. Without my photos they'll have to publish the story without pictures.

I'm not talking from experience, but I would pick a figure that you would be happy with being paid, then double it.

If they want them badly and pay what you ask you might have been able to get more but will have got twice as much as what you would have been happy with in the first place.

On the other hand if they say it's too high, then you can haggle with them and come as low as half of your original price and still be happy.

I all depends whats on the photograph. If you had say, a pic of the Lock Ness Monster or a UFO etc it would be priceless. But your question is like asking how long is a piece of string. Good luck. Hope you make a few quid.
