Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez, retired Iraq commander, speech at the Military Reporters & Editors convention, Fri 10/12, was widely covered by the national press and TV. Their reporting all focused on his criticism of the Bush administration for inadequate strategy and prosecution of the war.

Sanchez said that the media have lost their sense of ethics. That members of the media blow stories out of proportion and are unwilling to correct mistakes, that this media environment is doing a great disservice to the nation.
He further said “you report with total impunity and are rarely held accountable for unethical conduct and the truth is of little to no value if it does not fit your own preconceived notions, biases and agendas.
