Oct. 15, 2007 issue - The colonel was furious. "Can you believe it? They actually drew their weapons on U.S. soldiers." He was describing a 2006 car accident, in which an SUV full of Blackwater operatives had crashed into a U.S. Army Humvee on a street in Baghdad's Green Zone. The colonel, who was involved in a follow-up investigation and spoke on the condition he not be named, said the Blackwater guards disarmed the U.S. Army soldiers and made them lie on the ground at gunpoint until they could disentangle the SUV. His account was confirmed by the head of another private security company. Asked to address this and other allegations in this story, Blackwater spokesperson Anne Tyrrell said, "This type of gossip has led to many soap operas in the press."

why would someone not believe msnbc or newsweek. i thought they were somewhat reputable. i do admit that it sounds strange that soldiers would be disarmed. but this is not from one of the conspiracy websites. it is a new story just out this week, so maybe we'll hear more about it in a few days.

Evidently it will take a videotape, and eyewitness accounts from the Pope and Billy Graham to make our government face the fact that Blackwater troops are a group of thugs that are out of control, with no supervision, no punishment, and wages worthy of a CEO of a big Corporation!

I do believe Newsweek. Unless they printed it as a rumor, it is the factual information from various witnesses. What else is available in Iraq? One can't exactly put it on tape at those crucial moments.

The Blackwater boss, Eric Prince, is a Michigan millionaire who has doubled the size of his training ground in Georgia, evidently planning on providing more Hired Guns for perpetual War, and he has donated more than generously to the previous Bush campaign fund.

It is high time we all realized this is a corrupt administration with plans for continual war, with profits soaring for certain people, who will laugh all the way to the bank. What do they care about the lives of a million or so Muslims or the safety of our troops? What do they care as long as the coffers are overflowing?

I cannot comment on this particular issue as I do not know if its true or not. However I do think that its unnecessary for any private security firms to operate in Iraq. The US have enough well trained troops to do this job. Most of the employees are just cowboys with little or no training to operate in areas such as Iraq.

I can understand why you love your country and hate your government. I can't say that i blame you. I feel the same way. Michael W: if you will check you will find out that the Brits also have private security people working in Iraq.

I'm sorry but, I don't believe this for a moment, I was an Army Ranger and this would never have happen unless someone was sleeping.
