Media & Journalism - June 2007

I'm a moderate and I know all about what Fox News does (I think all media outlets do it too!), but this gave me a whole new respect for them. Also, Hannity and Colmes calll this fundaMENTAList to task as well - hats off to them to! If I could, I'd buy them lunch! The steaks are on me!

aside from fox, most if not all tv networks are liberal. but on radio, there is hannity, beck, limbaugh, savage, medved, etc etc.

how did radio become so conservative as opposed to tv?

Im going to be frank here, the evidence is overwhelming to say she was. Overwhelming. If you haven't looked at it, don't bother posting. If you have, what are your thoughts? I guess the more pressing question is, will they ever achieve justice? (Cue people to start making ad hominem attacks and straw man arguments- deal with the facts!)

To me murder and beheading is alot worse, and it happens to contractors too, not only soldiers. Yet the media, with the exception of the Michael Savage show won't cover the events.

iam watching CNN NEW WITH LARRY KING and there talking about the missing women in CANTON OHIO. There talking about some charges that here ex has about some gun charges. Do you think he was the one that did this to her? HE has a girlfriend that is also pregnant maybe HE did..so he woulnt have to pay sooo much child support. This is my opion.

I refused to watch the News, it always makes me feel depressed. people are always like "did you hear.....? you dont watch the News?...blah blah blah. I hear what is happening through other people because I dont like to watch it. especially now that my husband is deployed. Am I the only one that feels this way, that all news is bad? They rarely say of any positive things happening in the world, there has to be something, right?

I am the victim of an organized fradulence commited by an ox-bridge university. I have paid 30000 pounds for a "research" degree but the university just did not get any resource for the research. Imagine you are studying radiochemistry and you are stuck with a research proposal that involves Uranium. Your supervisor refuses to talk about a change of the proposal for years and tells you to find Uranium yourself. That is my situation. My complaint to the university is met with procrastination for >1.5 year. But the university is protected from the complaint system set up by the OIAHE. The OIAHE requires a letter from the university saying that it has completed its investigation. As long as the university has not finished its investigation, I cannot complain to the OIAHE. It is clear the university will never complete the investigation.

I have written to newspaper websites but no body responds. I believe there are other victims like me. Can anyone help me to reach for a reporter?

For psychology i have to get 2 regional papers and 1 national paper which haveb personal ads in (lonely hearts columns) they need to be in for tommorow (tuesday) so i cant wait until saturday for The Guardian. I have my two regional ones, but now i need a national paper , does anybody know of any english papers , eg star, mirror .. which have personal ads in??

You find lots of websites that specialize in publishing articles related to web marketing and other information designed to help people optimize making money via the net. I want to publish articles warning people against some of these practices. Hypothetically, suppose I wrote an article with the headline "Want to Sell Your Soul? Become a web content writer." Now, that isn't a TRUE name of an article I would publish, but along the same lines. Any well trafficked sites that would be open to such type of muckraking or counter-cultural articles? I could always publish it on my blog, but it would carry more weight if it got picked up by a site I didn't publish myself.

I'd like to ask all of those who have conspiracy theories about the McCanns and Madeline's abduction to tell me exactly why they believe that Gerry and Kate McCann are responsible and what they have seen in the news reports that everyone else (including the british and portuguese police) have missed?

I'd be suprised if one of you can provide any solid evidence to prove anything of the sort.

P.S. And answers like 'they left their children alone' are not what I'm looking for... I know they did wrong in that respect... I'm talking about those people on here who are accusing the McCann's of staging her abduction.

I'm asking because 6 years later I'm gathering information for a story about it... i was in care at the time i lived in a special needs home and i'd gone out with the unit manager for the morning on some business and we heard it on the radio i dismissed it at first but then i saw it on TV... it still seemed surreal till i went upstairs to listen to Classic FM!

I have my own feelings about the McCanns...but this question is PURELY about the publicity surrounding poor Maddie.
While no body has been found...there HAS to be hope (however small) that she may be found.
However...I cant help feeling all this publicity isnt helping...indeed if SOMEONE does have her...what chance have they got to give her back? They know what the consequences would be...and with the whole world watching??

Do you think its time to lay off and let it die down a tad....after all...who DOESNT know what Maddie looks like? Even just for a week or two.....then let the campaign continue at full force. This also includes all the Sky News updates for Maddie.

Maybe if it dies off...and the reporters and such go away...if someone has her...they may have the decency to return her while they are not under the gaze of the Public.

My mother one day told me that Phil Collins killed his mother and she heard it off the news some time ago. Has any one heard this? Are there any websites you can find this on? Is she just crazy? Maybe she was murdered and he was just a suspect? What happened?
