people want to believe their homes are safe so when a child is taken from a home or place treated as home it is easier to believe that it was not a stranger as in the jonbenet ramsey case the parents have forever had the finger pointed at them all i see when i look at the mccanns is pain and guilt yes they were wrong to leave the kids alone but people constantly spiel that out and be offensive toward them instead of concentrating on the greater wrong that has happened to the mccanns and their precious little girl the pictures on the website for madeleine are heartbreaking a lovely little girl who was obviously very well looked after and loved who should be with her family right now

The whole thing is so weird that it is hard to speculate what may have really happened. As long as we're talking conspiracy theories, I'll venture to pose 2 possibilities:
1st- The McCann's planned a fake abduction in order to become rich and famous
2nd- The girl has really been kidnapped, but they know who took her and/or why she was taken and they're not telling anyone because it would reveal something about them they don't want to be known.
-The first option would explain why they are so calm, why they are acting the way they’re acting. It doesn't seem likely, although these days you never know.
-The second option seems inconsistent with the fact they are creating so much publicity. it would however explain why they refuse to come back to the UK. This possibility would be even worse than the first, since it implies that they really don't care too much about the girl.
I can’t think of any more.

The police have not stated that Madeleine's disappearance is an "abduction" We don't know that she was abducted by anyone at all, she has "disappeared" and the last people that reportedly saw her were her parents. As you will be aware, there has been plenty of inconsistencies reported in the media with the parents accounts of the last time they saw her, the times they supposedly checked on her etc. With all this in mind, I'm not surprised there are conspiracy theories, the parents behaviour alone is enough to make most people suspicious.

I can t speak for the conspiracists I am not one..but I do think that ther is a load of information surrounding this which was missing...
The police revealed yesterday that they had no hope of a proper forensic information because the whole family crammed into the bedroom...
What I just dont understand in a addition to the rest is when you go to your friends screaming "they have taken her"
why do you allow people to crowd into the bedroom to find her and knowlingly destroy a crime scene...okay this is not conspiracy this is stupidity and when the press were too busy criticising the police why were they so quick?
I was in the house when an intruder had broken in through the back door into the kitchen ..I came in from work and walked into the kitchen and put something on the cooker and something caught my eye through the door window ....a trainer ...i didnt exactly see the guy ..I then noticed the back door was ajar...and instinctively paced back through the kitchen aware of a set of knives on the worktop and paced right out of the kicthen and locked the door to kitchen (happened to have a bolt lock .) My heart was racing..
I told my father who came round and inspected the back door and phoned the police who then came round and then found a shoe print on the kitchen tiles.....but that is pointless because they had nothing else...they did dust the door and the kitchen worktop and so on...
what we didnt do was invited people to have a look at our kitchen and a busteed door and open and shut etc...
If I came home and knew she had been taken I would have phone the police and ask everyone to wait outside...
why did they have to go into the room?
In addition it would be conviniently stupid for the abductor to break in through the windows when the shutters were supposedly forced (this sound made up.)
Did the McCanns themselves check their kids or someone else and is that person telling the truth..??

I totally agree with Sarah 05. The way the McCanns and friends bungled their stories at the beginning did nothing to get public opinion on their side. Then the way they took their Fun bus around every country except the Uk amassing loads of cash on the way and writing the website blog which reads more like a holiday diary. If I had lost my daughter I would be looking ill and drawn and be a nervous wreck by now but Kate always looks tarted up and ready for her daily photo opportunities. The whole thing just doesn't add up. I am waiting to see what happens when they EVENTUALLY give in and return to Britain. Also it seems the people of their home town have a petition demanding they are questioned by social services regarding the neglect of Maddy.

Sarah 05 has brilliantly summed up the reasons why so many of us are not taking the McCanns at face value. As to whether they were actively involved or not I couldn't say but they certainly did a good job of scuppering the crime scene right at the start. I would have thought that doctor's would probably be more aware of the importance of forensic evidence than most people.

the lies that they told at the beginning about the time between "checks" the patio door being forced and the fact that when Kate found Madeleine missing her first words were "they have took her".i myself and probably a lot of other patents would say "i can't find her" or word to that effect.don't know if they had anything to do with the actual abduction but i do believe they know more than they are letting on.

no one can say with any degree of certaintly what actually happened. its just that their behaviour after the event is questionable, they seem to be coping too well and are very good at playing the media. he even has time to right a blog, I would be a wreck if my daughter went missing, writing a blog about my walks along the beach would be the last thing on my mind.
he even had the cheek to moan about the size of the FREE plane that was provided for them. surely his focus should be elsewhere.??
to be honest, i'm bored of the whole thing, they need to wake up and smell the coffee. I know it sounds harsh, but she is not coming home safely, she is most likely dead already and probably was very soon after the event.

well no i will not say they had something to do with it because that's a very harsh judgement, however i will say that many thing don't add up:
they first said they checked on the children every half hour but their friends and bar staff say they didn't leave their seats once since leaving their children at 7pm until finding maddie missing at 10pm.
they said the shutters were jammied open, yet it was later realised the shutters were broken already (now if you were on holiday with three toddlers and the window shutters were broken, wouldn't you tell the staff and ask for them to be fixed, if not for the safety of your children but because you leave your personal belongings in the room) and they must have noticed the shutters were broken on arrival, so why did Gerry say they were jammied after Maddie went missing?
Gerry said the door was forced open, yet it was later realised they left the doors unlocked "incase of fire" so if they purposely left the door unlocked, why say it was forced open by the abductor?
when Maddie was found missing it was reported that kate ran back to the table and said "they've taken her" why say "they?" it's a bit strange, wouldn't you just say "she's gone" or "maddies missing"
when she ran back to report maddie missing to her friends, she left the twins alone in the room again, now if one of your children went missing, would you really leave your 2 babies alone again to go tell people the other one has gone? obviously she wondered off or someone took her so why leave the twins alone again????
when asked by the german reporter if they had any involvement in the abduction, the pair seemed very calm about that question and had an almost scripted reply! if my son wen't missing and someone accused me of being involved, i'd go absolutely mental!!!!!
lastly they have seemed very cool through out this whole thing, i would safely say i'd need sedating if my son went missing! and the couple only decided they needed "time to grieve" after the german reporter asked if they had any involvement!!!
also how do they have strength to go for walks along the beach and leisurely jogs??? also doing a photo shoot for 'the sun' newspaper soon after the abduction??? and the jogs and walks were happening just days after their daughter went missing!!!
again saying they had involvement to me is a bit of a harsh judgement, so i won't directly say that they did, but something definately doesn't add up!!!!!!!

sometimes you don't need solid evidence to explain a ' gut 'feeling. i know in the eyes of the law it doesn't stand, but i think a lot of people have a gut feeling here that something is not quite right. the only thing i can say, and i know it's not the solid fact you're asking for ..is that it doesn't feel as though the whole story is being told.
