I have my own feelings about the McCanns...but this question is PURELY about the publicity surrounding poor Maddie.
While no body has been found...there HAS to be hope (however small) that she may be found.
However...I cant help feeling all this publicity isnt helping...indeed if SOMEONE does have her...what chance have they got to give her back? They know what the consequences would be...and with the whole world watching??
Do you think its time to lay off and let it die down a tad....after all...who DOESNT know what Maddie looks like? Even just for a week or two.....then let the campaign continue at full force. This also includes all the Sky News updates for Maddie.
Maybe if it dies off...and the reporters and such go away...if someone has her...they may have the decency to return her while they are not under the gaze of the Public.
What do you think?

i agree with what you've said. if they hadn't been so adamant in their publicity then they could've had her back by know. i say this because like you said the person that took maddie will know the consequences and have most probably been freaked out and panicked.
With the tip-off of her being dead, it may be that someone that just wanted a child like maddie has killed her because they have seen it as their only option in not getting caught (even if all they wanted was to ransom her and get some money).
the fact that she has that original eye might not have been known to her kidnappers at the time and if you can imagine if they had rasied her and someone had noticed her eye then they most certainly get caught.
what i want to know is why didn't they take her siblings?

I agree i dont think the media attention is now helping. It was good before to stir awareness but now i think it is hindering things now.
I pray to god that someone has took her who couldnt have children or something and that she is being loved and looked after. She will also prob be found too if this is the cause if not soon at some time in the future.
If something bad has happened like a child peadophile ring have got her i doubt she will ever be found. She will go "underground" and they will close ranks.
My thoughts and prays are with Maddie.

I agree with you fully on that one. With so much going on of course who ever has her is not going to own up. It would have been better if she was left in a church if they didn't want the media attention. If it was done discreetly as you say there might be a better chance. Whoever has her knows the world is on to them, but if things quieten down you never know. At this stage anything is worth a try. This is going on a bit too long don't you think. Somebody somewhere must know something. I mean she didn't just disappear from her own bed and off the face of the Earth just like that.

I couldn't agree with you more. If the little girl is still alive and was kidnapped with the sole purpose to be sold to some rich couple in some far way country then surely all this publicity is very dangerous for Madeleine. --- she became "dangerous property" "hot" property and a deranged kidnapper will surely want to "dispose" of her!? But then what would be the alternative way of going about it ? I feel sorry not only for her and for her parents but for the Portuguese Police too who have an impossible case to solve. I would love to know more about what caused them to suspect that English guy neighbour (forgot name).
Big mysteries have often very simple explanations. Could Madeleine have woken up while her parents were having their night out, cried out for mom, got no answer then walked out of the room on to the street, was run over by a drunk driver who panicked and got rid of the body in some remote place in Portugal ? I think this is much more likely than someone wanting to steal her to sell her to a rich couple in..... Saudi Arabia !! I really fear the worst for Madeleine.
Click on this link below and then on the left click "Missing" and see other children missing in Europe just like Madeleine. after clicking "Missing", please notice the half Portuguese half German little girl at the bottom of the page Luna Maria Celeste Tinnemman of similar age and appearance as Madeleine and yet she did not get 1/3 of the publicity Madeleine has received.

I think that you are right.
- All this publicity is coming across as TACKY. 'Team McCann' ??? Sounds like a pub quiz team rather than a family looking for their kid.
- There is already a large number of people thinking 'Not another news report about this' and mentally switch off as they are getting bored with it.
- Many people think its unfair that maddie is getting SO MUCH ATTENTION while kids who go missing everyday and we hear nothing.
- The McCanns, jetting off to events / meeting the Pope etc to 'raise awareness' is also hacking people off - It gives the impression they are going off on jollies at other people's expense "We went off to Marocco for two days and we now know she is not there !!!" - HOW ??? Surely thats something the POLICE should be doing & did you get a nice rug in the famous bazar ?!?!? Also while you are jetting off WHAT ABOUT YOUR OTHER TWO KIDS !!!!! ????
- The fact that we see the McCanns we get an unconcious reminder of WHY SHE WENT MISSING IN THE FIRST PLACE. namely Mum & Dad went off to dinner leaving a three year old in charge of two smaller kids WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG ON SO MANY DIFFERENT LEVELS.
- Such a high publicity drive on the subject is sadlt TOO LATE if it happened in the first few days it may have gotten a result, but a month later, it is sadly too late.
- As you say returning her now in the full public gaze very difficult, and WORSE STILL may actually mean that her abductors (assuming thats what happened)have killed her and hid the body.
There are ways of keeping Maddie in the public eye. Look at the tasteful, heart moving campaigns of the UK hostages in the 1980's (Terry Waite etc) and also the BBC reporter Alan Jonstone.

I thought all the publicity would help Maddy. I thought it would make her kidnappers think she was too hot to handle and that Maddy would be found somewhere - it wouldn't be difficult for her captors to release her then scarper. The fact there is still no sign of her, in my opinion, does not bode well. There must be hundred of places a killer could hide her body - under floorboards, patios, in the garden.

There are a lot of countries that have not reported it or even aware of it and quite frankly are not interested.
China
North and south Korea
India
Pakistan
Bangladesh
Afghanistan
Most of the Arabian peninsular countries
Mongolia
The Russia's east of the Urals
South east Asia,Burma,Vietnam, Cambodia,Borneo.
Polynesia and Micronesia.
Most of the African nations from north of South Africa up to the Saharan belt
Most of the south American nations.including central America.but not Mexico.
Why do they not care? because this sort of thing happens on a daily basis.

It's all very odd isn't it how some children just vanish without any trace at all. I reckon whoever took her has done this loads of times and knows excactly how not to be seen. In these days of cctv I find it difficult to understand how only one possible sighting was reported. Someone must know where she is.

this is all happening because of a high profile case that the McCanns have not only have asked for but hope this will help and without the media and despite the police investigation there maybe no hope...

I agree! I don't think it's always true to say that the more publicity things have the better. Sometimes people just get desensitised when they are bombarded with constant publicity.
